FAQ
ACT Darts
How do I register my team?
We will normally have a Captains Meeting where all captains are gathered together to discuss the
start date for the next competition, and any significant rule changes etc. Keep an eye on the website
for the date of the Captain’s meeting for the next season, or email us at [email protected]
Team nominations will have a closing date but if you (or one of your team members) can’t attend
the Captains Meeting, you can fill out and complete a registration form and email it to
[email protected].
If you are an individual player looking for a team to play in, again – you can email
[email protected] and we can provide you with contact details of captains looking for
players and you can make contact with the captain. This information is also available on the play
darts page on our website.
How many players do you need for a team?
Currently we play in a format based on a minimum of four players (of male, female or mixed). But
you can have up to 6 or 7 players registered to a team.
The format provides for you with the opportunity to utilise all players or just nominate the minimum
4 per night.
Each match consists of;



1 x triples, 1 leg of 801
2 x Doubles, 1 leg of 601
and 16 singles, best of 3 legs, 501
Each player can only play up to 4 singles a night and can only play each opponent once in a singles.
The score sheet used for our Wednesday night competition can be found here.
Are there different skills divisions?
We cater for all skill levels and both male and females play in the same competition. We have
former Australian representatives through to social players currently playing darts with us. So
whether you’re a novice or a pro, we can accommodate you.
There are different divisions, but this is dependent on the number of team nominations.
In recent times, we have started off each competition with one division, then split off to form two
divisions once the first round of games has been completed.

How much does it cost?
There are two fees, an individual registration fee, and a team fee.
Each member pays a registration fee of $50 per year. Concession may be made for players who can
only play for part of the year. This fee includes affiliation to the National darts body – Darts Australia,
and entitles the member to play in any Darts Australia tournament throughout Australia.
In addition to the player registration, each team is required to pay $400 per team, per season. Talk
to your local club where you want to play, they may be able to assist towards team sponsorship. For
more information on fees, please contact the treasurer [email protected], or check the
contacts page for additional contact details.
Do you need to organise our own home club to play?
We would welcome new venues, bearing in mind that there needs to be sufficient space and
adequate lighting to play. If you don’t have a venue in mind, we may be able to point you in the right
direction. We can provide dart boards, mobile dart stands and lighting, on request, and as long as
the equipment can be stored safely.
We may also offer weekend events that attract a higher patronage to their venue during the event.
For more information on dart board set up and minimum requirements, check the Darts Australia
website for the playing rules http://www.dfadarts.org/pages/dfa_news/documents.shtml. Look for
the section titled “THE PLAYING AREA” in the Playing Rules document (sections 13-15).
Any other questions?
Feel free to drop us a line or phone or email any of the Board members on the contacts page.
