SALES MANAGER
Detroit City Distillery seeks an experienced, highly-motivated individual to lead on-premise and offpremise sales to grow the distillery’s presence in Michigan and Illinois. The Sales Manager will work
closely with DCD partners to develop and execute a sales strategy, quantifying impacts of their work and
fine tuning the approach to maximize investment in sales. The Sales Manager will be responsible for
sales visits, building relationships with vendors, designing and executing events to promote the brand and
helping with a host of other activities to elevate our visibility at the Tasting Room and Whiskey Factory in
Eastern Market.
Compensation will be salary and commission-based, with an expense budget to support travel,
accommodations, and expenses. Compensation is commensurate with experience. We envision strong
future growth potential within the organization to increase responsibilities and pay based on performance.
GENERAL DUTIES









Participate in weekly sales call with ownership
Collaborative development of a sales strategy with DCD ownership
Strong and frequent communications to report out on sales, contacts, events etc.
Sales coordination with accounts (expectation you should be at DCD for most/all of this)
Independent site visits and ride alongs with distributor
Trade show event design, management and execution
Social media and photography to support partner collaborations and marketing
Assist with launch of Butcher’s Cut Bourbon in distribution
Assist with tastings, events and sales visits to Illinois
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS








Proven sales experience mandatory, with strong preference for sales in the beverage industry
Knowledge of bar and restaurant industry in Michigan, including business and marketing
considerations.
Excellent communication and relationship management skills
Highly organized at scheduling, tracking expenses and maintaining contact
Infectious personality with a passion for our spirits, our story and our city
Self-starter who is responsible, accountable and independent.
Reliable transportation
Willing to work some evenings and weekends.
