Dear Families,
Welcome to Traditional Day, Village 1 Second Grade at EDUPRIZE. My name is
Megan Bush and I will be your child’s teacher this year. I have a B.A. in Special
Education and Elementary Education. I also just received my Masters in Early
Childhood Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Arizona State University.
Outside of school, I enjoy running, scrapbooking, and playing with my dog!
Second grade is an incredible adventure, filled with wonderful activities and
experiences. We will begin the year by getting to know each other, establish learning
procedures, and assessing where each child is in math and reading. In addition, we will
be doing activities to build and strengthen our classroom family. The cottages we will
be studying this year are: American Boutique, Dinosaur Dig, Weather Station, and
Bug Farm. We’ll make new friends, write stories, read fantastic books, and learn how
to be much more independent learners!
Open House will be Monday, July 24th from 9:30-11:00 in my classroom,
Building 1 Room 37. If you can’t make it during our designated time, I will be available
from 8:00-4:00 on July 24th. At this time, we will get to meet each other, see the
classroom, get important papers, learn first day lineup instructions, and receive
carpool/dismissal information. The supply list is on the next page; please bring
these items with you to Open House. We will also be collecting money for the
Scholastic for Kids magazine subscription. Please bring cash or check (payable to
EDUPRIZE) for $6 to be collected at Open House. This will give me time to organize
and prepare everything for the first day of school.
The first day of school is Wednesday, July 26th. All students must be on
time and present the full day to be considered enrolled at EDUPRIZE. This is a
Traditional Day-Village 1 classroom, so our school day begins at 7:50 a.m. and ends at
2:40 p.m. Monday through Thursday. On Fridays, our day will begin at 7:50 a.m. and end
at 11:20 a.m. I will meet the students outside near the playground and pick them up
daily. On the first day of school, please meet me outside where we will normally line up,
you will learn where this is located when you come to Open House. I want the students
getting used to their normal routine.
Please visit our website www.eduprizeschools.net. While online please complete,
print, and bring with you the Open House Forms to our Open House! I look forward to
being your teacher!
Warmly,
Mrs. Bush
