PASSIONATE FOCUS 2016
A Juried Art Exhibition
for Artists with Vision Loss
Application Deadline: February 12, 2016
All information requested must be completed or the
application will be returned.
APPLICATION PROCESS
Each application entered must include a electronic file
that accurately represents the creative work. PLEASE
SET RESOLUTION OF IMAGES AT 300 DPI or higher.
Files can be sent via email or on DVD. If you submit a
DVD with multiple images, please specify the image
number on the application.
Email submission is preferred, but please send an email
without attachments first to notify me that you are
submitting via email. Sometimes emails with larger
attachments do not go through, so if I am aware you
sending me a file, I can confirm receipt of your
application.
ACTUAL PIECES OF ART ARE NOT ACCEPTED DURING
THE APPLICATION PROCESS.
All work must be original and created by an artist who is
legally blind. Pieces displayed in previous Passionate
Focus art exhibits will not be accepted.
Artists may submit up to 6 pieces. There is a $30.00
non-refundable submission fee for all artists no matter
how many pieces are submitted. This fee helps to cover
costs associated with replacing glass and frames
broken during shipment and other expenses.

A jury, comprised of artists, curators and art educators,
has sole responsibility for selecting the pieces which
will be included in the exhibit.
EXHIBIT INFORMATION
If selected, artists must provide the work submitted for
selection. Substitutions will not be accepted.
Artists are responsible for costs of transporting their
work to Second Sense prior to the exhibit. Second
Sense will pay for return shipment of any unsold work
via UPS Ground or FedEx Ground.
The Exhibit will be on display during the opening
reception at the Fairmont Hotel in downtown Chicago on
Thursday, May 12, 2016.
The Exhibit will then be on display at a second location,
not yet finalize, for 4-6 weeks. All unsold artwork will be
returned to the artists by the end of June 2016.
Second Sense reserves the right to reproduce accepted
artwork in announcements, programs, websites, note
cards and other communications that report on or
promote the event. Submission to this competition
signifies acceptance of all conditions stated.

self-addressed, stamped envelope with your application.

Please provide a brief statement about your
background, education, artistic training or experience,
your approach to art, etc. You may choose to provide
whatever information you wish to share with our guests.
This information will be used for publicity on our
website and in the program book.
ABOUT YOUR ENTRY
A total of six works can be submitted. Each artist should
also send a non-refundable application fee of $30.00.
When setting the value of the piece, please keep in mind
that this will be the selling price of the piece. The artist is
to receive 70% of this price, Second Sense receives 30%.
