Section 2A Baseball May 27, 31 June 2, 4, 7 & 9 Baseball will be seeded using QRF beginning this spring. Because we are using QRF, the date for seeding has changed. Baseball – all games played through May 24 will be factored into the seeding process. We will receive the seeds by no later than10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 25. Coaches or their designee, MUST update their MSHSL team pages after their games. Scores may also be emailed to [email protected] Coaches MUST monitor their results on MinnesotaScores.net. If something is incorrect or missing, it is the responsibility of the coach to make sure the correct information is reported. There is also an informational Tiebreaker Margin page on the site which explains how tiebreakers are applied. Checks from spectators are to be made out to the host school. We do need beginning and ending ticket numbers listed on the report. Double elimination will occur from 2nd round to the completion of the tournament. There will be no cross bracketing. GAME DAY INFORMATION Franklin Rogers Park in Mankato – June 4, 7 and 9th Take Madison Ave. to Long Street turn left on Caledonia Street and right on Reed Street. Ball field entrance is on Reed Street. There is to be no batting practice on the game field. If you would like to take batting practice please call ahead of time so we can make arrangements at an alternative site. 30 minutes before game times the home team has the field for 10 minutes. 20 minutes before game times the visiting team has the field for 10 minutes. 10 minutes before game time the umpires and coaches meet at home plate to discuss ground rules. 5 minutes before game time the official squad, coaches, managers,(20 players 2 manager and 3 coaches) from each team will be introduced and will stand along the baselines in front of their respective dugouts. National Anthem will be played after the introductions. (Introductions will begin with the visiting team) ** Rosters: All Schools will need to enter their baseball team participants into their appropriate MSHSL team roster page. -- We will pull the roster from the MSHSL to make programs etc. Thanks for your help in this matter. Admission: All tickets will be sold at the game: Adults - $6.00 Students - $4.00 NO PASSES ALLOWED. Only squad listed on roster will be admitted to the tournament. Gate: Gate will open (1) One hour before game time. Umpires: Umpires will be assigned by Section Coordinator Home Team: Home team 1st base dugout, visitor 3rd base. Home team will be high seed throughout the tournament. – Finals --Home is from the winners bracket. – if a game two is needed a coin flip will determine the home team. Awards: ALL awards will follow the League policy and the awards program will be conducted at the conclusion of the game determining the Section Champion. Baseballs: Wilson A1010 baseballs will be provided by site manager. *** Official Ball of the MSHSL Tournament ***** Student Managers: All student managers and bat boys (person) will need to be in 7th grade or older. Students below the 7th grade level will not be allowed in the dugout or on the playing field. Policy: Please review Region 2A polices on MSHSL web site. MSHSL: All Minnesota State High School League written and unwritten rules will be followed based off the policy & procedure manuals of the MSHSL & Federation.
