Kindly Sponsored by the ‘NORTHERN SNOOKER CENTRE’ 2016-2017 – RULES - ALL LBSO COMPETITIONS (last amended at the AGM on 05/09/16) ‘General Rules’ for ALL Competitions - Stage 1: 1) UP TO THE SEMI-FINALS: When entering any LBSO competition which involves handicaps, it is the responsibility of the team captain of the player/s at the time, to make sure the handicap which is recorded, accurately reflects the ability of the player/s who has/have entered. If and when (but only if and when), an official complaint is then made to the Competition Secretary about the ‘false handicap’ of any player/s entered in any handicap competition, after taking into account the merits of each individual case, the Management Committee are given a wide discretion to deal with the matter as ‘it sees fit’, but will also record any reasons why a decision has been reached, to refer back to if necessary. (Rule inserted as agreed at the AGM held on 13th July 2015). All tournament matches must be completed by the date stipulated on the website or shown elsewhere. Both players/teams should attempt to arrange the playing of a match but the ultimate responsibility is with the home drawn player(s)/team, who will be withdrawn if the match is not completed by the closing date or an extended date for any round decided by the Competition Secretary. Results of matches should be forwarded to the Competition Secretary via the website (or by text but only if absolutely necessary) as soon possible afterwards. The rules and conditions of the club expected to stage a match must be respected. In handicap tournaments any player(s) playing off an incorrect handicap will have their scores/frames declared void. Regarding all competition formats at the time of entry (with the exception of the Leeds City Championships)a) Individuals: must be listed with a club currently registered in the league, but may then play out of another club, providing that club is also registered in the league, 1 b) Pairs: any two players forming a partnership, can be from different clubs, proving both clubs are currently registered with the league, c) Teams: where rules allow, players forming any team, may do so from different clubs, providing all those clubs are currently registered with the league. Players or members of a team must not practice once the match has commenced. Fees must be paid in full by all competitors entered in competitions, by a deadline date to be specified by the Competition Secretary and agreed by the LBSO Management Committee, otherwise all players / pairs / teams who owe fees will be withdrawn, and irrespective of any previous rounds already played. ‘General Rules’ for ALL Competitions - Stage 2: 2) FOR BOTH SEMI-FINALS & THE FINAL: For ALL semi-finals and finals, competitors will be contacted by the Competition Secretary, with a view to agreeing and fixing a date, time and venue.
