To get the most from this, we advise you identify the main areas in which you might have a shortage
and focus recruitment in these areas. Just some ideas of what this could look like:
 You could identify 6 events over the Summer season where you need more officials, using the grant
to train Game Changers to support you
 During half term, you could recruit a group of volunteers to come in and support your coaches as
assistants
 For your busy season, you could benefit from trained media volunteers who could take pictures,
write up the day’s events and interview participants
 Could you involve a group of run leaders to help deliver your running group sessions?
Please identify which areas you would like to recruit for and the number of Game Changers you would
like to be trained in this area. Ideally we want to see a minimum of 8 Game Changers for areas chosen
so they are able to volunteer together if possible:

Application questions
(150-250 words per answer):
1. Please tell us about how you currently involve volunteers and how they are they co-ordinated (for
example, how many volunteers do you have, which areas do you struggle to recruit volunteers for,
how volunteers are supported at the club)?
2. What steps have you taken to prepare to take part in the programme (for example, who is the
Team Leader you’ve identified, have you established a partnership, do you have the support of the
club, do you have any young volunteers interested, what opportunities have you identified)?
3. How will you support the young people who are involved (for example, a key contact for them at
the club, what social activities will you plan, catch ups)?
4. What are the main benefits for your club and for the volunteers who get involved in the
programme?
