461 Interface Adaptor Card
Description
The 461 Interface Adaptor Card is a mounting assembly that allows the connection of up to five DMP LX-Bus™
interface cards to the XR500, XR500N, XR500E or XR2500F Command Processor™ Panels. Use any combination of zone
expansion, printer, data network, and interface cards to maximize Command Processor panel capability.
Installing the 461 card
Follow these steps for trouble-free 461 Interface Adaptor Card installation:
1.Remove AC and battery power from the panel before installing the 461 card.
2.Align the 50 pin P6 connector on the 461 with the 50 pin J6 connector on the panel. Align the standoff
installed between slots A and B with the mounting hole in the panel.
3.Press the connectors together and the standoff into the panel mounting hole by applying even pressure to
both sides of the board.
4.Install up to five interface cards from left to right in the slots marked A to E.

J23 6-Pin Header
The panel supports RS-232, LX-Bus, and 1100 Series DMP Wireless operation. Only one operation can function at a
time. Install a jumper on one pair of J23 header pins to indicate how the panel is programmed to operate. Refer to
the table below when installing a jumper on J23. When a jumper is installed or moved on the 6-pin header, briefly
reset the panel using the J16 jumper to activate the selected operation.

The XR500 Series or XR2500F panels support up to 500 wireless bus zones and up to five LX-Bus circuits. Each
Interface card LX-Bus circuit provides 100 hardwire expansion zones. The maximum number of LX-Bus and wireless
zones available on a fully populated panel is 500.
LX-Bus, Wireless, and RS-232 Operation
LX-Bus Operation: Place a jumper on the two pins next to the letter “L” on the J23 6-Pin header. When using J22 as
an LX-Bus, connect a DMP Model 300 4-wire Harness to the J22 4-pin header labeled LX. This provides the first 100
LX-Bus zones numbered 500-599. No LX-Bus Interface Card is required. Refer to the following tables to identify zone
locations and numbers relative to J22 LX-Bus operation.
Note: Do NOT use shielded wire when using the J22 LX-Bus Header.
