Cutting the cost of energy
As you will all be aware in the last year the cost of electricity and gas has risen well above the rate of inflation
which itself has been at its highest level for several years. There are a number of schemes including those
promoted by LAs which seek to offer schools a way of accessing the lowest prices and offer guidance on energy
efficiency. Many schemes only work if schools group together. Whilst that can lead to very competitive prices
it does rely on a number of institutions in an area being willing to change provider at the same time and this
can sometimes be very difficult given individual schools’ existing arrangements. We have spent the last year
