Application for Bus Service Licence
Important Information:
1. Please be advised that the Public Transport Council (PTC) may require a minimum of one month to
process your application.
2. All sections in this application form MUST be completed. Where inapplicable, you may indicate
'N.A.'.
3. The applicant shall be a business/company registered with the Accounting & Corporate
Regulatory Authority.
4. The application must be made only by the applicant's authorised personnel. PTC reserves the right
to reject the application if it is found that the information provided in this application form is untrue,
inaccurate or incomplete.
5. It is COMPULSORY for the applicant to attach a map clearly showing the proposed route and all
stopping points. PTC will not process the application until it has received the map.
a. Please obtain prior approval from the management of private developments e.g. shopping
centres, hotels, etc. if you wish to use their driveway or other parts of their premises as stopping
points.
b. Please obtain prior approval from SBS Transit or SMRT Buses if you wish to use the bus
interchange/terminal as a parking or stopping point.
6. Where necessary, fax the relevant supporting documents to PTC at 6846 9131. Such documents
must be signed and dated by the applicant.
7. If the space provided in this application form is insufficient, furnish the details clearly on additional
sheet(s) of paper and submit it together with this form.
8. Submit separate application forms when applying for more than one bus service.
9. PTC reserves the right to issue either a renewable or non-renewable bus service licence to the
applicant.
10. Once the application has been approved by PTC, the applicant must make the following
payments:
Renewable 2-year bus service licence
 $500 security deposit for each special bus
service (this will be refunded upon cessation
of the bus service)
 Licence fee:
Year 2011 or part thereof - $200
Year 2012 or part thereof - $230
Non-renewable temporary bus service licence
(valid for up to six months)
 No security deposit required
 Licence fee:
Year 2011 - $20 per month or part thereof
Year 2012 - $20 per month or part thereof
11. After the implementation of a bus service, the operator must seek the prior approval of PTC before
withdrawing the service. Upon obtaining PTC’s approval, the operator must ensure that there is
adequate publicity to inform commuters.
a. The operator of a premium bus service must publicise the withdrawal for a period of at least 1
month before the date of withdrawal.
b. The operator of other types of bus service must publicise the withdrawal for a period of at least 2
weeks before the date of withdrawal.
12. If you are applying to operate a bus service to serve any of the Integrated Resorts (IRs) in
Singapore, you are required to declare in Part E (s/no. 4) of this application form whether you are
related to the IR(s) or are contracted or subsidised by the IR(s) to operate the proposed bus
service. If you are related to the IR(s) or are contracted or subsidized by the IR(s) to operate the
proposed service, please provide the details in Part D of this application form.
