Best Beginnings Program - Marshall Medical Center

Welcome to Best Beginnings!
Schedule Your Home Visit Today!
Marshall Medical Center has teamed with First 5 El Dorado to provide the following
services free of charge to every newborn between the ages of 1 and 6 weeks. You can call at
anytime to schedule a visit:
1. A Private Home Visit A Registered Nurse will visit your family in 2 to 4 weeks. A
short health assessment will be done, including baby’s weight. We encourage lots of
questions and we will provide education, support, and referrals as needed.
2. Help with Infant Feeding Issues Whether breastfeeding or formula feeding,
parents frequently have questions about feeding their babies. We are here to help. If
needed you may call the breastfeeding hotline for a free phone consultation at 6262835.
3. A Child Health Record Each family will receive a blue folder highlighting programs
specific to El Dorado County. We encourage you to keep all of your child’s important
information in here and use the notepad to write down any questions you might have.
4. Introduction to the Together We Grow Program Families will be offered the
opportunity to enroll in a free program to help parents determine if their child is
meeting developmental milestones important to school success. We encourage all
families to participate.
5. Follow Up and Thank You Families will receive periodic follow up phone calls to
check in, answer questions, and encourage you to keep doing a fantastic job. When
we close your file, a gift will be sent out thanking you for participating in our program.
We hope you enjoy your home visit, and find these services helpful and informative. Thank
you from the Best Beginnings nurses,
Jamie Bowman, RN, CLC
