WAVERLEY RETIREMENT ACTIVITIES GROUP WRAG E-NEWS UPDATE – SEPTEMBER 2016 Changes to Wrag Quarterly General Meetings At the WRAG 15 August 2016 Quarterly General Meeting members voted in favour of changing the day, date, and time, of future quarterly general meetings as a means of attempting to encourage more members to attend. It was felt that some members were reluctant to attend evening meetings in the cold part of winter, and that a daytime event might be more convenient. It was agreed to trial holding the quarterly meetings on the first Wednesday of every three months, November, February, May, August, as a daytime meeting, commencing 10:30 am – subject to the Secretary being able to obtain a suitable City of Monash venue. The first Wednesday of each Quarter was specifically chosen as that is the only day on our WRAG monthly calendar when there are no clashes with other WRAG Group Activities scheduled to take place. Page 1 of 4 Melbourne Cup Eve Picnic & Quarterly Meeting Subsequent to the August meeting (above), the WRAG management committee decided to bring forward the scheduled 14 November 2016 WRAG Quarterly General Meeting, to coincide with the annual Cup Eve Picnic on Monday 31 October 2016. This will avoid having the Annual Cup Eve Picnic and the new daytime November Quarterly General Meeting, either side of Melbourne Cup Day. We hope that WRAG members will appreciate the proposed changes and that we get the usual good turnout to the annual Cup Eve Picnic on Monday 31 October 2016. Please Note that we intend holding the WRAG Quarterly meeting either during or immediately following the luncheon break.
