ANGBC TIPOFF TOURNAMENT RULES
Game rules will be as follows:
 WIAA rules: There will be two WIAA certified officials working each game and WIAA rules will
be in effect, unless noted.

Game time: Each half will consist of 20 minutes with a running clock until the last 2 minutes.
Clock will continue to run the final two minutes if a team is ahead by 20 or more points.

Pre-game clock: There will be a minimum of a 4 minute warm-up period between games.

Half time clock: There will be a four minute half time between halves.

Time outs: (1) full time-out and (2) thirty second time-outs during the regulation game.

Overtime: There will be a 1 minute break between overtime(s). The first overtime will be three
minutes in length with a running clock until the last 2 minutes. The second overtime will be
sudden death. Each team will be awarded one full time-out per overtime. Timeouts do not
carry over from the end of regulation to overtimes.

Defensive restrictions:
o 3rd & 4th Grade – Zone defenses, trapping, and/or pressing are forbidden the entire
game.
o 5th & 6th grade – Zone defenses (full or ½ court) are forbidden. Pressing is allowed in the
last 2 minutes of each half unless a team is ahead 20 or more points.
o 7th & 8th grade – Zone defenses are permitted at all times. Pressing is allowed the entire
game, unless a team is ahead by 20 or more points.
A team will forfeit a game if they are not on the floor and ready to play at the scheduled start of
the game.

The tournament director at the site will settle any disputes or protests immediately.
