Note from Mrs Coulthard
Dear Parents/ Guardians,
This week we have enjoyed celebrating 'Science Week' in both our schools with lot of super science
activities going on in all classes. I have enjoyed seeing pupils learning lots about science and all the
great photos on our Facebook pages.
Next week our Y6 pupils from each school will be travelling to the Lake District to spend two nights on
our first 'Booster Residential' to help prepare them for their forthcoming SATs in a practical and
memorable way. I am looking forward to hearing all about their adventures and seeing the work they
will produce whilst there.

Mrs Rice’s Highlights of the Week
Tree Planting
Thank you to all the parents and volunteers who came along on Tuesday to help out at our tree
planting day. We were able to plant 200 trees as well as using our new fire pit, combined with Fur
Clemt produce to make lunch for all of our visitors. We look forward to developing our outdoor area
even further over the coming months.
Science Week Worshops
This week is National Science Week and pupils have enjoyed taking part in additional mad science
experiments all week as well as attending a Mad Science Workshop held by our very own mad
scientist: Mr Penning. Pupils were able to ask all sort of scientific questions as well as making their
own reasoned judgements and conclusions. What a great week! Keep up the fantastic scientific
thinking St Mark's.
Mother's Day
Next week on Friday we will be hosting a Mother's Day event, details are on facebook and a letter was
sent out this week. If you need another letter please pop into the office.

 Year 3 have swimming on a Thursday please remember their kits
 Coffee morning is at 9am on a Friday morning, all more than welcome to join us in the nurture room
 Please remember that Children are able to bring in snacks for playtime but they MUST be healthy. No
chocolate or sweets allowed.
