Bad Weather Policy
1. In the event of inclement weather being forecast, the Fixture Secretary will arrange
for a pitch inspection to take place at Lough Moss between 10am and 12 noon, or in
sufficient time to avoid opponents travelling to Lough Moss.
2. The person inspecting the pitch should try to understand how the pitch reacts to
inclement weather, at times relevant to the matches taking place.
3. This person will inform the Fixture Secretary, who will communicate with the fixture
secretaries of the clubs concerned. This communication will be directly with the
fixture secretaries and must be by telephone, texts are not acceptable. The Fixture
Secretary will contact any Branch Umpires appointed to home games at Lough Moss.
4. The Fixture Secretary will then inform our Club Secretary, who will contact Annadale
team captains, Ulster Hockey, Irish Hockey Association (where relevant), the Press
and put a note on our website.
5. Club captains will inform the players selected for their teams as soon as possible,
using suitable means of communication.
6. Finally, Club captains will complete match cards (writing the date, match details, the
league and the reason why the match was cancelled) and forward these to
Annadale’s Fixtures Secretary.
