SUMMIT VIEW “Spring Football Camp 2013”
Dates: April (Week 1) 22nd -24th -26th (Week 2) 30th - May 1st -2nd (Week 3) 6th – 8th -10th
Location / Time: SVM FIELD and / or SIMON KENTON HIGH SCHOOL FIELD 5:00 – 7:00 PM.
Pick-up: Parents/Guardians will need to arrive to pick up players promptly at 7:00 PM.
Cost: $5.00 (Make checks payable to SVM ATHLETICS)
Purpose of Camp: To teach and develop team spirit building and fundamental skills necessary to be a
productive member of the Summit View Jaguar Football team.
Who can attend? Any current 6th or 7th grader who attends Summit View Middle School AND any 5th
grader scheduled to attend SVM.
Paperwork Needed: To participate in spring football, a current KHSAA physical (which is good one year from
the doctor signature date), insurance card and liability form are required.
1) If you played a sport at Summit View during this school year your package on file covers everything
unless physical is over a year old.
2) If you have not played a sport at Summit View (This includes 5th graders), must complete the entire athletic
packet. The packets will be in the front office.
Practices: All practices are scheduled to be held outdoors and appropriate dress is required (football shoes, or
cleats of some sort preferred), shorts and t-shirt).
Camp Goals: Summit View Football is one of the premier middle school programs in the area. Spring practices
give an opportunity for the players to get a head start on their preparations for the upcoming season. The
football staff goals for spring practice are to introduce the prospective players to the defensive and offensive
basics that will be taught in our regular season. In addition it will allow players to show off their skills and
allow the staff to see what positions the players may be most successful (these are just initial evaluations not
permanent.)
Season Considerations: The 2013 Season will have 2 Teams. Varsity (8th-7th-6th combined) primarily played
on Saturday} and have a (JV) Junior Varsity (7th-6th combined) with games primarily played on Wednesday
nights.
