2nd post mortem

Yi Ting Chen(Jeffrey) Game #2 Post-Mortem / PolyTreasure
Version 1 (Playtest #1)
In our first group meeting, we spent a lot of time brainstorming because we have no
ideas what we should be creating for our board game. Finally, we came out with
some hexagon ideas and we decided to make a game called "PolyTreasure".
Sketch
Equipments
- hexagon cards
- events card
- dice
- pyramids (houses)
- chessman
Rules & Instructions
 Goal: Have the most points by the time all of the pyramids have been looted

Setting up:
o Start tile is in the center with player’s representative piece in the
hexagon
o A banker is chosen.

They hold the points($) and pyramids

5 colored pyramids with three sizes are organized by
size and color off the board
Each player starts with $50
Player who rolls a number one or six get to put a hexagon down on the board
All hexagons must be placed face up touching at least one side of another
hexagon
The pieces may be placed in any shape players agree to
Special Event cards and hexagon cards are shuffled and placed face down on
the table

Playing:
o Roll six-sided dice
 Players choose who goes first
o
Moving
 Move your playing piece based on the number rolled.
Numbers are counted from the inside of the hexagon pointing
out
 Players must move until total dice amount is used up
 If a player is unable to the total number of spaces then
they must stay on the same hexagon
Landing on a Special Event
Place Largest pyramid for first tile
Create discard pile for used special event cards, once through all shuffle and
start over
Landing on a Pyramid
 Banker awards $200 for first treasure hunter
 Banker awards $100 for second treasure finder
 Banker awards $50 and final amount of money to be
gained from a pyramid

Dueling:
Players that get money from a pyramid must go to
another pyramid before returning for more money
o Once looting a pyramid, player takes it into
their possession to keep track of which
pyramids they can’t loot before looting another
o Unless you get a “go-to” card, then you can loot
the green pyramid without repercussion
Landing on a hexagon with another person
If a pyramid or special event:
 get money from pyramid before dueling
 flip special event card before dueling
This instigates a dual between treasure hunters
Roll dice and whichever player gets a higher number steals $50 from other
player
if more than one person everyone duels
if a tie, roll again
Game ends: when all of the pyramids have been looted and are off the board

Feedback
After we did our first play test in class, we got many feedbacks from our classmates.
The first thing our classmates told us was to premade our hexagon board instead of
placing the hexagon during the game. This is because the possibility of rolling a one
or six to place a hexagon is low. If no one can roll a six or one, players will just walking
around in a small area. The second suggestion was that player who place a pyramid
hexagon should get some benefit from it. Otherwise, no one will want to draw a
pyramid hexagon.
Version 2 (Playtest #2)
Things we changed after Playtest #1
- premade hexagon board
- player get 200 on flipping pyramid hexagon
-players dual after events happen
Equipments
- hexagon cards
- events card
- dice
- pyramids (houses)

game is well-made and balanced.
