1 Introduction
We consulted stakeholders and the public about an extension to route 382 into the
Millbrook Park development. The consultation ran from 13 November 2014 to 8 January
2015.
Route 382 currently runs between Southgate Station and Mill Hill East Station every 15
minutes on Monday to Saturday daytimes and every half hour in the evenings and on
Sundays.
We proposed to extend route 382 from Mill Hill East Station into the new development.
The extended service would operate along the newly built roads and use the bus stops
and new bus standing facility within Millbrook Park.
This proposal creates new links to:
•
•
•
•
Mill Hill East Station
Arnos Grove Station
Finchley Central Station
Southgate Station
The proposal was developed jointly with the London Borough of Barnet.
We have considered the views of the public and stakeholders and this document
summarises responses to the consultation.
2 The consultation
The consultation was designed to enable us to better understand the views of local
residents, businesses and stakeholders.
The potential outcomes of the consultation are:
•
•
•
We decide the consultation raises no issues that should prevent us from proceeding
with the scheme as originally planned
We modify the scheme in response to issues raised in consultation
We abandon the scheme as a result of issues raised in the consultation
2.1 Consultation objectives
The objectives of the consultation were:
•
•
•
•
To give stakeholders and the public easily-understandable information about the
proposals and allow them to respond
To understand the level of support or opposition for the change
To understand any issues that might affect the proposal of which we were not
previously aware
To understand concerns and objections
2
•
To allow respondents to make suggestions
2.2 Who we consulted
The consultation intended to seek the views of people who live near to the proposed
route, current users of the service and other potential users. We also consulted
stakeholders including the affected Councils, traffic police, London TravelWatch,
Members of Parliament, Assembly Members and local interest groups. A list of the
stakeholders we consulted is shown in Appendix B and a summary of responses is given
in Section 4.
2.3 Consultation material, distribution and publicity
We produced a letter outlining the proposal which was distributed to the new housing
already built in the Millbrook Park development and also wrote to users of route 382 via a
CRM campaign.
A map was produced which showed the extension, including bus stop location and the
new terminus. This was distributed with the letter to 41 residential plots identified as
having completed housing.
A copy of the consultation material is shown in Appendix A.
People were invited to respond to the consultation using a variety of methods. They
could respond via a freepost address, by emailing [email protected] and by
accessing the online consultation where they could let us know their views.
The online questionnaire included the following questions;
•
•
•
•
Do you agree with the proposal to extend route 382 into Millbrook Park?
If yes, please let us know why
If no, please let us know why
Do you have any further comments about these proposals?

involved in the discussions and signed a SRA (Sponsored Route Agreement) to transfer
the funds for the extension to TfL.
