Let’s GO! Spring is here, and it’s time to RIDE! Join us at the first of the four competition Mid Atlantic Games Series.
There are divisions for masters, novices, adults and training ponies. You may enter as a team (preferred) or enter as
an individual to be placed on a team. Entries will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. A completed entry
consists of check and all required paperwork in the organizer’s hands.
All riders are invited to compete in the Mid Atlantic Series. You do not need to be a member of USPC, MGAA or any
other organization to enter and compete. Team points from each Mid Atlantic competition will be carried over for end of
series awards. The Organizer reserves the right to form 5-man teams from individual entries. Closing date is
March 31th, 2006. Late fee of $10 required if postmarked after March 31st, 2006 or if entry is not complete
when received.
Entries received after the closing date will be put on a space available list. Please include e-mail address on
entry so we can notify you when your entry has been received.
High point trophy to be awarded to top Masters team at end of series.
Divisions: * Divisions may be modified or combined as entries warrant.
All divisions will play two sessions on Saturday, and Finals on Sunday.
 Fossils: This division is open to adults. Open to Moms, Dads, family teams, and former USPC players who
want to get back into playing mounted games.
Cost: $50.00 for MGAA members, $60 for non-members.
 Training (Pairs): This division is open to experienced riders with a young or inexperienced games pony.
Cost: $50.00 for MGAA members, $60 for non-members.
 Novice: This division is open to riders new to mounted games or those who want to compete at slower
speeds. Cost: $50.00 for MGAA members, $60 for non-members.
 Masters: This division is open to experienced mounted games riders who play at a fast pace.
Cost: $50.00 for MGAA members, $60 for non-members.
All riders are expected to be on the grounds when the first division begins.
NOTE: Teams are required to help with equipment when not riding either before and/or
after their own division. Teams not helping with equipment in at least one session in the
a.m. and one session in the p.m. will have 5 points deducted from their score for each
session.
Note: Training division will be judged, but not placed. Ponies entered in any division deemed to be a danger to other
ponies or riders by the judges will be removed from the heat.

General Information
Payment: Checks written to Antietam Pony Club.
Weather Plans: The competition will be held regardless of weather. If for some reason the competition is
cancelled, competitors will be notified.
Stabling: Stall cost for the horse for Friday and Saturday night is $10. Since stabling is limited at this
venue, we ask that those riders who can reasonably trailer in for the day to please do so. Stabling
preference will be given to out of town competitors. One small paddock is available for outside turnout, cost
$10 per horse. The paddock is available on a first come, first serve basis – call the organizer if you would
like to use the paddock. Shavings are available through Stacey Calhoun for $5.50 a bale, you may also
check with Stacey for a price on hay.
Food/Water: Water is available on the grounds. There are fast food places in Charles Town, about 2 – 3
miles from the Fairgrounds. There will be food available on the grounds for breakfast and lunch.
NO DOGS, LEASHED OR OTHERWISE, PLEASE!!!!

Camping:
Plenty of hookups are available at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds @ $10/night. Restrooms are available
for campers, but no showers. Hookups include electricity only. Primitive camping is also allowed at no
charge.

Directions to Jefferson County Fairgrounds from Rt 70:
From Route 70 (Frederick or Baltimore area): Take Rt. 340 south into Charles Town. Follow to Charles
Town. Take the Rt. 9 West exit (towards Martinsburg). Go approximately 2 miles and make sure you are in
the left lane. Make a left on 115 South. Go 1.3 miles and make a Right on Leetown Pike. Go 2.6 miles and
make a Right into the Fairgrounds. Take the second entrance, just past the main entrance. That takes you
around back and brings you right in past the rings and the stable area.

The undersigned acknowledges the inherent risk involved in riding and working around horses, which risks
include bodily injury from using, riding or being in close proximity to horses among other risks, and further
that both horse and rider can be injured in normal use or in competition and schooling.
In Consideration for the privilege of riding and working around horses at the Mid Atlantic Mounted
Games Competition #1 the undersigned does hereby agree to hold harmless and indemnify the Mounted
Games Across America, Inc, Mid Atlantic 1 organizers, Jefferson County Fairgrounds, Antietam
Pony Club, its officers, sponsors and members and further release them from any liability or responsibility
for accident, damage, injury or illness to Undersigned or any horse owned by me or to any family member
or spectator accompanying the Undersigned on the premises of the Jefferson County Fairgrounds.
I fully understand that riding and the playing of mounted games are very dangerous activities. I fully
understand that riding is a very dangerous activity with many inherent risks including (i) The propensity of
an equine to behave in dangerous ways which may result in injury to the rider, trainer, groom or handler, (ii)
The inability to predict an equine's reaction to sound, movements, objects, persons or animals. I understand
that playing with mounted games props can cause serious injury or death to rider and/or equine. I wish to
participate in these activities knowing they are dangerous. I accept and assume all the risks of injury
(including death) to me or my property.
In exchange for being permitted to participate in these activities for myself, my heirs, guardian, and
legal representatives, I release and agree not to make or bring any claim of any kind against the
Mounted Games Across America, Inc, Mid Atlantic 1 organizers, Jefferson County Fairgrounds,
Antietam Pony Club, or its masters, officers, directors, members, employees, or guests or any
landowners, landholders or the persons making property available for the Mid Atlantic 1, for injury
(including death), to me or any damage to my property whether from anyone's negligence or not, or
any other cause, arising out of my participation in these dangerous horseback riding or related
activities; and I also agree if anyone makes any claims because of any injury to me (including
death), or for any damage to my property, I will keep all those released by this agreement free of any
