These events will be held at the Southeast Expo Center in McAlester on Saturday, May 2, 2015. REGISTRATION: Registration for the event is determined by the contests entered. See the attached contest rules and guidelines for the pricing for each event. The printed copy of the registration form (EXCEL spreadsheet) and one county check for all registrants is due to the Bryan County Extension Office by April 20th (must be postmarked by that date!!!) . Please make checks payable to OSU Bryan County. LATE REGISTRATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED THIS YEAR! Please make sure that you get your registration in on time! Please complete BOTH pages for your county and E-MAIL THE FILE to Robert Bourne by March 28th!!! 2015 Southeast District 4-H Shooting Sports Contest May 2, 2015 -- Air Rifle & Archery Contest, Southeast Expo Center Welcome to the annual SE District Shooting Sports Contest. Competition will be offered in Air Rifle and Archery on May 2. All 4-H members must be from counties that have a Certified Shooting Sports Program and Certified instructors. Instructors from each county will be assigned duties at the contests. There will be NO coaching after the contest begins. Coaching after the contest begins will result in the shooter being penalized. REGISTRATION DEADLINE MUST BE POSTMARKED APRIL 20TH. NO LATE REGISTRATION WILL BE ACCEPTED! Member’s age will be based on their age as of January 1, 2015. All shooters must have completed Hunter Safety Course and attended 8 hours of instruction per discipline. Age divisions for contests are: Junior – Age 9-11 Intermediate – Age 12-14 Senior – Age 15–19 All shooters are required to bring their own safety equipment. FEES: $5.00 per entry for Air Rifle $5.00 per entry for Archery (Compound) $5.00 per entry for Archery (Traditional) LOCATION: Air Rifle and Archery – Southeast Expo Center, McAlester PRIZES: ► 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place Individuals will receive medals, 4th, 5th Individuals will receive ribbons. 1st place teams (shotgun only) in each age division will receive medals for team award. No Team Awards will be given in Air Rifle and Archery. Awards will be given at the conclusion of each contest at their respective location. ► An Overall High Point trophy will be given to the individual with the highest total points in all contests combined for each age division (Junior, Intermediate and Senior). ► An overall sweepstakes award (traveling trophy) will be given to the county with the highest total points in all contests combined. ► For overall individual and county high point a tiebreaker system of the participant(s) with the highest number of 1st places will be declared the winner. If still tied, highest number of 2nd places will be used to determine the winner. If necessary we will continue thru 10 places. SWEEPSTAKES POINT SYSTEM 1st – 10 points 6th – 5 points 2nd – 9 points 7th – 4 points rd 3 – 8 points 8th – 3 points 4th – 7 points 9th – 2 points th 5 – 6 points 10th – 1 point AIR RIFLE CONTEST Standard Three-Position Sporter Air Rifle Standard Air Pistol May 2, 2015 Southeast Expo Center, McAlester REGISTRATION – 8:00-9:00 AM Contest will begin promptly at 10:00 AM Close-toed shoes are required. No lace up shooting boots are allowed. ALL shooters will shoot three positions: Standing, kneeling, prone from 10 meters. Shooting time will be one minute per shot. An instructor may help JUNIOR/INTERMEDIATE shooters charge their rifle. No air rifle models other than those on the approved state list will be allowed. Air Rifles need to be clearly identified with county name. Counties are responsible for their own pellets (.177 only) and safety glasses. Age as of Jan 1, 2015 Junior (9-11) Intermediate (12-14) Senior (15-19) Total # shots 30 30 30 Shots per position 10 10 10 Targets used will be official NRA 10 meter air rifle targets, 10 bull per target, 1 shot per bull. Tiebreaker will be broken on standing score, kneeling score and then prone. If there is still a tie, a pre-selected shot number will be used to break the tie. There will be no Silhouette or Sporter Air Rifle Standing Events due to space and time constraints. ARCHERY CONTEST May 2, 2015 Southeast Expo Center, McAlester Registration - 8:00 - 9:00 A.M. Contest will begin promptly at 9:00 A.M. The contests will be held indoors. Each contestant will be allowed one practice shot for each distance. A minimum of six (6) arrows are required in the quiver for each shooter. Arm guards or some sort of arm protection is optional. There will be two classes of Archery: Traditional/ Recurve bows (sights are allowed, releases are not). Compound Bows with No scopes, No electronics, and No cocking devices (releases are allowed). Stabilizer length no longer than 12 inches on all compounds Each contestant is responsible for bringing their own bow and arrows and arm guard. TRADITIONAL/COMPOUND The Jr. age division will be given 10 shots from the 10, 15, and 10 yard mark. The Int. age division will be given 10 shots from 15, 20, and 15 yard mark. The Sr. age division will be given 10 shots from the 25, 20, and 25 yard mark. No 3D or FITA Contests will be held at District contest due to Space and Time Constraints Tie Breaker- The number of 10 X’s will determine winner.
