Facts about Soccer
 Soccer players run an average of 6 miles in one
game
The most World Cups won is by Brazil and they won 5 times.
Did you know that small marks were made on the post to keep track of
the number of goals? Every time a goal was conceded, a small nick was
made into the post. So literally, a goal was “scored” onto the post,
hence the phrase “to score a goal“!
Fouls
 Free Kick- The Ref sets the ball down where the foul happened and the
team that got fouled gets to take the kick/ball from there. Any player on the
opposing team must be at least 10 yards away from the ball.
Yellow Card- Warning from the Ref.
for a foul, once you get 5 you are suspended
from the game.
Red card- Intentional foul. You can only
get one and you’re kicked off the field
