The following guidelines apply for entering the tournament: All categories have a maximum draw of 96 players. Restrictions will be made according to ESF Guidelines. There are no individual entries allowed. All players must have an active, paid-for SPIN (Squash Personal Identification Number) to participate. www.worldsquash.org/spin Entries can only be made by the Member National Associations. Entries from countries not associated with the ESF will have to provide a contact person from the Official Federation. This person has to take responsibility for all entries from that country. All players will stay at the tournament hotel, Van der Valk Schiphol Entries can only be made by e-mail. All players have to wear approved eye guards. The recording of matches for coaching / performance analysis purposes is acceptable provided the player and / or their parents / coaches do not object. Players are allowed to use the swimming pool and fitness facilities in the hotel only under strict adult supervision. The tournament will commence Thursday 09.00 hours. All participants must be available at the venue from this time. VENUE Frans Otten Stadion, IJsbaanpad 43, 1076 CV, Amsterdam. GUIDELINES The event complies with the ESF Junior Circuit Guidelines, a copy of which is available on the ESF website – www.europeansquash.com – all participating MNAs should make sure that all relevant people (including coaches, managers and players) are aware of the Guidelines and their requirements. A minimum of 3 matches will be scheduled. All players are guaranteed a minimum of 3 matches. ELIGIBILITY The Dutch Junior Open is open to all players under the age of 13, 15, 17 or 19 on 16th July 2017, as appropriate. SEEDING The seeding will be undertaken using the ESF Junior Rankings valid at the closing date for entries and in accordance with the ESF Junior Circuit Guidelines. Also the results of the latest tournament will be used. The top 8 seeds in each category will be determined. Any non-European players who do not have an ESF ranking will be seeded by the Tournament Director. Details of the seeding will be found at the 9th of June on the tournament website (www.djosquash.nl). The tournament will commence Thursday 09.00 hours. All participants must be available at the venue from this time. MATCHES All matches will be played as best of five games, under the rules of the WSF. Scoring will be PAR 11 to 2 clear points. REFEREEING All players will be expected to mark and referee matches after their match. This will happen together with your opponent from the last match! BALL The Dunlop Pro ball will be used. Tournament Prize money There will be price money in the under 19 Boys/Girls categories. Trophies will be awarded in all categories. EYE GUARDS All junior players (under 19 years of age) must wear protective eyewear (manufactured to an approved national safety standard) properly over the eyes at all times during practice and match play. The list of WSF Certified Eyewear allowable at the time of participation can be viewed on the WSF website. INSURANCE Players enter and play in the tournament at their own risk. Neither the organisers nor the ESF accept any responsibility for injury arising from participating in the event. Players must arrange their own insurance. The named responsible person must be an official representative of the MNA. This person must take responsibility for all entries from that country. The organisation can restrict entries according to ESF guidelines. Only Federations can enter a group of players using this entry form. ESF PENALTIES E4.a) If a player makes a late withdrawal from a tournament (2 days or less before the start date), a doctor’s certificate confirming injury/illness must be provided to avoid penalties. The medical certificate (with a translation in English) must clearly state the player’s name, date of birth and the nature of the illness/injury; the certificate must cover the date of the relevant tournament and must be sent to the ESF office within two days after the final day of the tournament (email: [email protected]; fax +44 1424 202463). Any player making a late withdrawal not supported by a medical certificate will receive zero points for the tournament which will count as one of their 4 best results for the rolling 12 month period and will be taken into account when dividing the points to obtain the ranking average. This penalty will be applied automatically unless the ESF office receives a doctor’s certificate within two days of the final day of the tournament. If a player commits this offence for a second time within a 12 month period, he/she will be banned from the ESF Junior Circuit for a period of 12 months. b) If a player has entered a tournament and fails to turn up, he/she will receive zero ranking points for the tournament. These zero points will count as one of the player’s 4 best results for the rolling 12 month period and will be taken into account when dividing the points to obtain the ranking average. This penalty will be applied automatically. If a player commits this offence for a second time within a 12 month period, he/she will be banned from the ESF Junior Circuit for a period of 12 months. c) If a player fails to play out all scheduled matches for any reason other than illness or injury, he/she will receive zero ranking points for the tournament. Illness or injury must be verified by the tournament director and, if possible, by medical certificate sent to the ESF office within two days of the final day of the tournament. If zero points are awarded, the points will count as one of the player’s 4 best results for the rolling 12 month period and will be taken into account when dividing the points to obtain the ranking average. This penalty will be applied automatically. If a player commits this offence for a second time within a 12 month period, he/she will be banned from the ESF Junior Circuit for a period of 12 months. CLOSING DATE The closing date for entries is the 8th of June 2017. DRAWS The seeding and times of first matches will be published on the tournament website. The finalised draws will be published at the venue and on the website at the start of the event. ENTRY FEE The entry fee is € 51 which includes a gift. For hotel packages see next page. CANCELLATIONS The costs for hotel packages cannot be refunded for any cancellations received on or after 6th of July. For cancellations between 22th of June and 6th of July 2017, only a 50% refund will be made (less all bank charges). TRANSPORT The Van der Valk hotel has free shuttle service from Schiphol Airport to the hotel and also another free shuttle bus that goes to the squash venue and the hotel during the tournament. A timetable will be displayed at the squash centre, at the hotel and on the tournament website.
