In-Confidence when completed Moot Buddies Application The Moot | December 2016 – January 2017 Moot Buddies is a financial assistance program, run by the National Rover Council (NRC) to provide help to Australian Rovers who, under other circumstances, would not be able to attend an Australian National Rover Moot due to financial difficulties. A National Rover Moot can be expensive for attendees, and so NRC has allocated some funds to help Rovers attend. The NRC needs to ensure that all assistance is given to the most suitable people. The following form has been developed to help the NRC Executive assess your application for Moot Buddies assistance for the next Australian Rover Moot. The more supporting information you can provide the easier it will to understand your particular situation. Applicants who have shown initiative to source extra assistance to help their financial situation, (e.g. fundraising) will be looked upon more favourably. The application process is as follows: 1. Apply for attendance at the next Moot and receive a Moot ID Number. 2. Complete a Moot Buddies Application Form. 3. Discuss with your Crew Leader and have your application endorsed. 4. Application is assessed and endorsed by RRC Chairman (where applicable). 5. Application is assessed and endorsed by BRC Chairman. 6. Application is submitted to the NRC Vice Chairman. The NRC Executive will assess the validity of the application and select successful applicants according to the following criteria: Essential application criteria The applicant is a current registered & financial Australian Rover within their Branch. Without the assistance of the Moot Buddies Scheme, the applicant would have financial difficulty attending the National Moot. Desirable application criteria The applicant is actively involved in their Rover Crew’s program. In the last 12 months the applicant has provided a contribution to the community (either inside or outside of scouting). The applicant and/or their Rover Crew have done some fundraising towards attending the Australian Rover Moot. The applicant selects expeditions in the lower third of expedition price ranges. The applicant has not received Moot Buddies funding for a previous Australian National Moot. One of the desirable application criteria is that you select one of the cheaper expeditions. Given the expedition price bands announced in December 2015, the following expeditions meet this criteria: Mafeking Site Set Up Bush Walking Jamboree Historical Hike Scuba 2 Abseiling Mountain Biking Rover Training BARCOM You Don't Talk About Fight Club Chalet Getaway Rugged Edge $200-399 $200-399 $200-399 $300-499 $300-499 $400-599 $400-599 $400-599 $400-599 $400-599 $400-599 Small Boat Sailing Power Boating Rutherglen Masterclass Man From Snowy River House Boating Tread The Boards Victoria's Underground Secrets Focus And Capture Magical Melbourne By The Sea Side $400-599 $400-599 $400-599 $400-599 $400-599 $400-599 $400-599 $400-599 $400-599 $400-599 Page 1 of 5 In-Confidence when completed Moot Buddies Application The Moot | December 2016 – January 2017 If you have any supporting information, or need more space to write, please attach it to this application.
