West Hills College Lemoore Soccer Player Bruno Brumati Named All-American
For the second year in a row, West Hills College Lemoore’s men’s soccer team has been
recognized on a national level. WHCL student and soccer team member Bruno Brumati was
chosen as a second team All-America selection by the National Soccer Coaches Association
of America and first team Scholar All-America selection.
Players are selected for the All-America honor based on athletic talents and for the Scholar
All-America team based on academic achievement. Brumati, a native of Brazil, was one of
12 players selected for the All-America second team from junior college Division III teams
and was the only player honored from West Hills. He was also one of only 11 players
chosen as part of the Scholar All-America first team for junior colleges. A sophomore
business major, he has a GPA of 4.0.
“This is a well-deserved honor for Bruno,” said Allen Fortune, WHCL men’s soccer coach.
“He has been a pleasure to coach and he is an even better person than he is a soccer
player.”
In addition to becoming an All-American, Brumati was also named the Central Valley
Conference’s Defensive Player of the Year and was selected for the All-Northern California
Region and All-State first teams. He was also named to the All-Central Valley Conference
and helped the Golden Eagles end the season with a 12-9 record and a trip to the regional
playoffs.
Brumati will continue his soccer career at Fresno Pacific University this spring.
“We will miss him but couldn't be any prouder of what he has accomplished with his time
here at West Hills College,” Fortune said.
The team also earned another honor. Fortune was selected by the Central Valley
Conference as Coach of the Year.
