general public, causing injury or damage to persons, animals and property.
All persons taking part in, or as spectators of, UKPA activities do so at their own risk.
The UKPA, its Officers and agents accept no liability for loss, damage or injury to
persons, animals or property other than that required by UK legislation.
All persons inviting family members or others on to the site are required to ensure
these persons are made aware of this liability exclusion

It is intended that each division will play 6 x 6 minute chukkas and to
run the Tournament in teams, but the organisers may run individual
divisions as sectional dependent on numbers entered.
The organisers will arrange teams in divisions once received.
Please note that the following rules apply to certain grades:
0-6 See Regulations regarding ‘E’ division in UKPA Handbook
Sect.5.4
Under 16 years on horse 13.2hh and over
Under 16 years players graded 0 or 1
Under 13 years and ponies 13.2hh and under
Juniors graded less than 5 may not play in the divisions E-A. Juniors
graded 5 or more may play in C-A divisions. Junior divisions may be
combined if there are insufficient players.
UKPA MEMBERSHIP
It is a requirement that ALL Players be full or temporary playing
members of the UKPA prior to playing, this includes members
playing from the Pony Club.
PONY CLUB
All members who are competing as members of a Pony Club Branch please be aware that
the tournament will be run under UKPA rules. In particular there will be no hat checks as
in Pony Club events and all players (or their parents) are responsible for their own safety in
this respect
MULTI-HORSE
The tournament will be run as a multi-horse event in accordance with the rules set out in
the UKPA Handbook (2015) Section 5.1 paragraph 2. Players intending to use two horses
are to highlight the fact on their entry form.
Multi-horse rules are;
a. Players may use up to two horses
b. One change of horse is allowed in any game. If changing within a game one of the
horses must not have played competitive polocrosse before the tournament
c. More than one player may use a horse in different games up to a maximum of 54
minutes of play per day per horse.
d. The Tournament Organiser has the right to withdraw a horse if they believe the rules
are being abused.
ENTRIES
Closing Date for Entries is 12 noon on Friday 26th May. Late entries
will only be accepted exceptionally, with a late payment fee of £10
per team. Entries must be accompanied by the correct fee, either by
cheque or credited directly to the Limemere Bank Account 30-9826 64482060
Fees - £55 Open Grades, £50 Juniors and £45 Primary Junior
Divisions.
Clubs are only expected to pay for entries from their club.

BRIEFINGS
All Field Marshals will be required to attend a briefing as detailed.
A senior representative from each club is required to attend a briefing as
detailed. Clubs who fail to send a representative will not be permitted to
play.
FIELD MARSHAL
DUTIES
Each club will be required to provide at least one member to carry out
Field Marshal duties. Length of the duty will depend on the number of
players a club enters.
UMPIRING
DUTIES
Each club must list all their available qualified umpires on the entry
form. Clubs are expected to provide their own ponies and & umpires of a
suitable grade. Clubs will be sanctioned for umpires failing to turn up
/turning up late for a game.
UMPIRES MUST be as named on the Order of Play unless approved
by the Tournament Umpire or Tournament Organiser as below.
 Umpires must be appropriately dressed [as per players]
 Substitutions: By completing the appropriate form, which must be


signed by the Tournament Umpire/Tournament Organiser and
lodged with the Tournament Secretary at least 1 hour before the
relevant game
Penalty: If the named Umpire is more than 15 minutes late for their
umpiring duty without an acceptable reason, he/she will be excluded
from play for the first chukka of his/her next game
Failure to attend the game, resulting in a substitute Umpire having to
be used, will ALSO incur a fine of £25 to the Club concerned
GAME OFFICIALS
&
EQUIPMENT
Each Team must provide suitable people to fill the roles of
timekeeper/scorer and one goal judge over 16. A 14 year old or over
may goal judge with parental consent but only with another goal judge.
Each section should provide a match ball.
HAT TAGGING
Only hats tagged with a 2017 tag are approved for use during the
tournament. Hat tags are being distributed to club chairman and
executive umpires so please come with hats already tagged if possible.
Executive umpires are authorised to tag hats. Hat tagging will take at
8.15am on Saturday for 15 minutes at the secretary’s tent by the pitch.
FIRST AID
Paramedic will be on site during play.
HORSE WELFARE
Any horse that a club or player wishes to withdraw must be inspected by
the Horse Welfare Officer prior to substitution. Failure to comply will
render the club in breach of the tournament rules and may lead to
disqualification of the team from the competition.
Each Club must also nominate a Club Horse Welfare Officer who
will be the first point of contact for any horse welfare issues with
their club.
VET
A vet will be on site.
FARRIER
A farrier will be on site during play. Horses should be adequately shod
prior to the tournament.
HORSE
PASSPORTS
You are reminded that horses must travel with their passports. Random
passport checks will be carried out.
PENS
DIY electrified fencing as per UKPA guidelines in Section 5.1 of the
Handbook (2015). Camping and horse pens will be mixed. A separate
area with permanent fencing will be available for camping only.
MUCK
Please leave in small piles or lines that can be harrowed in. Pens
can be left un-cleared at the end of the tournament, however all hay
must be taken away.
HAY
Wrapped bales of haylage are available by the bale or ½ bale.

DOGS
DOGS MUST BE KEPT ON LEADS AT ALL TIMES DURING HOURS OF
PLAY. Extendable leads must not be extended anywhere near the areas
of play, practice or in the vicinity of horses. Well behaved/controlled
dogs are welcome but must be kept in a lead when near the horses/play.
Please pick up after your dogs. Any loose dogs will be removed to the
‘pound’ and a £20 fee will be charged for their release. Failure to comply
with any of these rules will result in owner and dog being asked to leave
the site.
FACILITIES
Facilities include port-a-loos, showers, and horse wash-down area.
BAR & CATERING
Drinks and snacks will be available throughout Saturday and Sunday.
Player meals on Saturday evening are included in the player entry fees.
Non-player meals at £7.50 each (payable on the night) are available on a
first come first served basis.
ENTERTAINMENT
T Saturday Evening: Meal served to all players. Bar Open. Music and
dancing.
TOURNAMENT
RULES & CODE OF
CONDUCT
Playing Rules will be in accordance with UKPA Rules Issue 2 and the
Code of Conduct as published in the 2017 UKPA Handbook will apply.
Players riding whilst under the influence of alcohol – anyone
considered to be under the influence of alcohol will not be allowed to
play.
CANCELLATION
In the event of cancellation of the tournament for whatever reason, the
organisers reserve the right to retain such proportion of the entry fees
as necessary to cover any expenses reasonably incurred.
HEALTH AND
SAFETY
The organisers of the event have taken reasonable precautions to ensure
the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be
effective everyone must take reasonable precautions to avoid and
prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions and all
officials and stewards.
AT ALL TIMES WHEN MOUNTED – suitable footwear must be worn [no
trainers or wellies] and UKPA tagged helmets, with chin straps fastened.
All playing/umpiring horses to be correctly ‘dressed’ as per UKPA rules.
Please drive vehicles with care and consideration on site.
VEHICLE
MOVEMENTS
There is to be no movement of vehicles after 10pm on Saturday in the
camping areas, except in an emergency. Players violating this rule may
be banned from competing on Sunday.
CONDUCT AT THE TOURNAMENT
Any person who, in the opinion of the organising committee, has behaved
in a way prejudicial to the interests of the UKPA and/or Limemere
Polocrosse Club may be barred from the grounds immediately.
