ANTONIUS
KIM’S GAME
G E T S TA R T E D :
1.
Two teams are chosen, and placed on either side of a building
or wall. It must be tall enough for the teams to be out of sight,
but low enough to toss the ball over.

One team begins by throwing the ball over the roof, yelling
“Antonius” as a warning. The team on the other side must tr y to
catch the ball. If they succeed, they gain a point, and can

The player covers his or her eyes, while the game master lays
out a variety of 10 ever yday objects on the floor. Use whatever
is in reach; toys, foods, or a toothbrush – anything goes!

The game master now covers the objects with a towel or scarf,
throw the ball back over.

The game continues until one team reaches 3 points. When
reached, the team with 3 points sneaks around the building,
yelling “Antonius” again, and the other team freezes.

and the player opens his or her eyes. The player is now allowed
to look at the objects for 30 seconds, memorizing them. Then
the objects are covered again.
The player holding the ball now takes three large steps and
spits as far as he can. Standing where the spit lands, he must
tr y to hit a member of the other team with the ball.

If he hits, the member switches teams. The game ends, when
one team is down to one player.

The player must now use his or her memor y to name as many
objects as possible. The player with the best memor y wins!

Four or more players can play this game.
2.
Choose a spot with lots of good hiding places and a centre in
plain view, and choose a marker – a can – and place it there.
3.
The catcher covers his or her eyes and counts to 100 while
ever yone hides.

Mark the play f ield with cones or sticks, making it bigger or
smaller to match the kids’ age.

Choose a catcher. The other players spread out on the f ield.

The game starts when the catcher yells GO, and then runs to
catch the others.

When caught, you must stand still on the f ield with your legs
If the catcher reaches it f irst, he or she calls out your name, and
you are caught “in the can” and have to stay put. But if you reach
it before the catcher, you kick the can away and yell “out of the
can” thereby freeing yourself or all those already caught.

The tricky part is that anyone hiding can take a chance and
spread to each side like a big, bad troll!

If one of the free players crawls through your legs, you are freed.

The game continues until ever yone is caught. If you want, you
can set a timer of 2 minutes to change catcher so ever yone gets
a shot at it.
When you are found, you and the catcher run towards the can
as fast as you both can.

making it harder for the catcher to f ind and catch ever yone.
