Reminders
Can team members wear head phones during
warm-ups, on the bench, between quarters,
etc.?
A - This is illegal! - Headphones are not appropriate equipment for the game
of basketball.

NFHS Rule Book 3-5-1: The referee shall not permit any team member to
wear equipment or apparel which, in his/her judgment, is dangerous or
confusing to other players or is not appropriate.
•
NFHS Rule Book 3-5-4-E: Head decorations and headwear, except those
specified above (i.e. - headbands), are prohibited.
•
NFHS Case Book 3.5 Player Equipment - Situation A - Ruling - While this
situation references jewelry, you can substitute "decorative necklace"
with "head phones" and the ruling is the same.
REMINDERS
• Use the ‘Stop the Clock’ signal (foul or
violations)
• Use the ‘Stop the Clock’ signal until ALL
substitutions have been completed
• Don’t wander during time-outs/intermissions
(get to your designated spots)
