2017 Market Guidelines
Purpose: The Mooresville Farmer’s Market was established to provide a source for locally-grown food,
support local farmers and producers, and build a sense of community in Mooresville.
Days and Hours of Operation: Saturdays, May 6 – October 28, 2017 8:00 am to 12:00 pm
Market Location: Liberty Park, 225 E Iredell Ave
Weather: The market will be open rain or shine. In case of inclement weather, it is the vendor’s discretion
to attend or not. There are no refunds due to weather.
Vendors:
All vendors, new and returning, must submit a 2017 Vendor Application. If accepted to participate in the
2017 season, vendors will receive a confirmation communication from Mooresville Recreation
Department and you will be asked to sign a Vendor Contract. Completed applications can be emailed to
[email protected] or faxed to 704-663-1395 attn: MRD or mailed to Mooresville
Recreation Department PO Box 1455 Mooresville, NC 28115. The deadline for applications is April 21,
2017 by 5:00 pm. Payment: Checks should be made payable to MRD and mailed to MRD PO Box 1455
Mooresville, NC 28115. In person payments can be made Monday-Friday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm at the
Mooresville Recreation Department Administrative offices at 418 Carpenter Ave in Mooresville. Call 704663-7026 with any questions.
All vendors must adhere to the following guidelines:
1. There will be no exclusivity guarantees for any type of vendor.
2. Only USDA certified organic growers may display signs using the word “organic”.
3. Each vendor is responsible for ensuring that they meet and abide by all state and federal laws,
NC Health Department and/or NC Food & Drug Protection guidelines for food preparation and
food safety.
4. It is advisable that each vendor carry a one million dollar liability insurance policy. Each vendor is
responsible for their own coverage.
5. Space assignments are made on a first come, first served basis upon receipt of completed
vendor application, signed contract and payment of 2017 fees. Vendors will be notified of the
location of their vendor space prior to the first day of market attendance. Temporary vendors
will be assigned temporary spots based on availability.
6. The 2017 market fees are as follows:
a. Participation in the entire market season (26 markets) is $85.
b. Participation in half of the market season (13 markets) is $55.
c. Temporary vendors $10 per market.
All fees are nonrefundable.
7. Vendors may begin set up at 7:00 am and are required to stay until the close of market at 12:00
pm. We ask that you do not begin selling to customers until the stated start of market at 8:00
am.
8. Each vendor is responsible for maintaining their vendor space, including signage, product
information, pricing, trash disposal and clean-up.
9. No live animals may be sold or given away at the market.
10. All vendors are expected to operate in a courteous manner towards customers and fellow
vendors.
11. The privilege of being selected to be a vendor or continuing to be a vendor is at the sole
discretion of the Town of Mooresville Recreation Department and can be rescinded at any time
for any reason.
