Basic Purpose:
To assist the Fund Development & Marketing Officer in the
organization and selling tickets for the Prince George Hospice Dream Home
Lottery. To provide information on lottery activities, to manage ticket sellers,
locations, ticket inventory, ticket data base and proceeds. Provide support for
promoting the lottery through social media and other marketing. Seeking a highly
motivated individual who has a flare for multi-tasking, excellent communication
skills, public relations, and attention to detail, computer skills and team building.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Sell lottery tickets for the Prince George Hospice Dream Home Lottery.
Balances daily cash receipt report against ticket sales. Make cash deposits.
Data base management and reconciling of ticket sales
Provide on location support to ticket sellers, and distribute and collect tickets
Phone order ticket management
Promote the Prince George Hospice Dream Home Lottery through direct sales
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, and some experience with
desktop publishing software.
Knowledge and use of social media (Facebook and Twitter) to promote the
Dream Home Lottery

Distinguishing Factors:
Skill:
Must have experience in using Point of Sale (POS)
machines for transactions and troubleshooting when necessary.
Knowledge:
Requires understanding and using business vocabulary or
basic arithmetic to perform standard operating procedures.
Communication: Requires obtaining and exchanging information, referring
inquiries to the appropriate source, or responding to questions from members of
the general public. Candidate must have excellent customer service skills.
Physical Demands: Requires sedentary work, including continuous sitting or
occasional standing and walking.
Working Conditions: Requires performing regular job functions under good
conditions in a safe working environment.
Requirements:
Must provide a basic criminal record check and have
transportation to ticket selling locations.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Completion of high school, GED or equivalent
Experience:
One year’s experience in handling large sums of money,
work experience involving public contact. Experience in data base management
is required. Some experience with BC Gaming Lottery rules would be an asset.
Must be 19 years of age or older. Must have a valid Driver’s License and own
transportation.
Recommended Work Traits: Working knowledge of cash transactions and
record keeping. Skilled in making change. Ability to follow oral and written
instructions. Ability to establish and maintain harmonious relationships with
employees, officials, and the general public. Must be willing to maintain
appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by
the agency.
