fore the future - Woodmont Golf Club

FORE THE FUTURE
The Woodmont Junior Golf Program provides a complete program designed to provide your children a learning encounter with
the game of golf that they can play for life, making it an experience they look back on as a memorable and enjoyable time in their
childhood.
OUR OBJECTIVES:
The objective of the Woodmont Junior Golf Program is to provide an opportunity for any junior golfer interested in learning the
game of golf with the facilities and instructional programs to maximize their individual talents. We are striving to build one of the
most comprehensive junior educational golf programs in the country.
To accomplish this we have established a program that provides many opportunities. The difference between the Woodmont
Junior Golf Program and the other traditional summer clinics that are offered by other golf clubs is that the Woodmont Junior Golf
Program operates a nine (9) month program and combines Monday Play Nights, Summer Series, Camps and Individual Monthly
Private Lessons. The unique private lesson agenda offers a building block approach that reinforces specific applications of a particular skill during the clinics.
The golf camps combine both the basics of the game and course skills that are needed to properly play the game of golf. This program teaches the junior golfer to build a swing on strong fundamentals through instruction and reinforces the specific application
of those fundamentals. Each individual benefits from the program by being allowed to progress at his or her own rate as opposed
to being forced to progress at a group rate. Of prime importance is that each junior golfer is offered the opportunity to maximize
their potential based on their needs and desires.
OUR PHILOSOPHY:
The Woodmont Junior Golf Program philosophy is to teach a game that is fun and that is built on solid fundamental techniques.
The Woodmont Junior Golf Program strives to provide:
• A fun and informative introduction to the game of golf
• A bonding opportunity between parents and child
• A platform to maximize student’s abilities
• Increase character and self esteem in each student
For those that desire to play at a higher level, the Woodmont Junior Golf Program will provide an excellent foundation. With the
numerous scholarships that are available today for both male and female golfers, the Woodmont Junior Golf Program may prove to
be the stepping-stone to an educational opportunity.
PROGRAM COSTS:
Each participant will be charged an enrollment fee plus a monthly membership fee.

Monthly Membership Fee, per child: Golf Members $45.00/ Activity Members $60.00 / Non-Members $75.00

8.
Never swing a club in a group setting.
Be careful when you approach a student who has the club down in the starting position. They may not be aware of you.
Never stand ahead or directly behind a golfer swinging their club. Always stand facing them at a safe distance.
Never go in front of the hitting line on the range to pick up tees or golf balls
Hold the club by the club head end when you are not hitting or swinging at the ball.
Yell “Fore” when you hit a ball that might hit someone.
Develop a Stop - Look - Swing routine prior to each swing when playing golf.
Dress Rules: Proper golf wear must be worn when using the practice range and golf course. If in doubt, call the Pro Shop Staff
before coming out to play.
GOLF COURSE RULES:
T he T ee
• The tee box is for the person who is hitting the ball. The ball must be teed up between the markers, not in front of them, and
no more than two clubs lengths behind them. Players should place their bag off the tee box. No “Do Overs” allowed.
• All strokes are counted. The person who has the lowest score for the previous hole has the “honors” of hitting off the next tee
first. Be safe, don’t hit until all players are out of your way.
F airways
• Fix all divots! A divot is a chunk of grass that is cut loose from hitting the ball. Use the sand mixture, or replace the grass divot
back in its hole.
• Don’t place your golf bag close to your ball.
• If you think your ball is lost or out of bounds, hit another ball from the same position to save time. Apply penalty stroke if
original ball is not found. (1 stroke for lost or 2 of O.B.)
• Always play the ball as you find it, unless told otherwise. You may identify your ball, but not improve its lie or position.
G reens
• The putting greens are very delicate surfaces and must be treated with extreme care. No running, dragging your feet or club,
shoe scuffs, bags or carts are permitted on greens!
• Players need to repair any damage that is caused to a green. This includes ball marks, scuffs, or anything else seen, even if you
did not cause it!
• No “Gimmie” putts, all putts must be holed out.
B unkers
• Always enter the bunker on the lowest side. After swinging, rake the bunker smoothly.
• Never touch your club to the sand before you hit the ball. (2 stroke penalty)
