Keys to an achievable outcome

 Keys to an achievable outcome
First of all, you think and state exactly what you want in the positive.
What specifically do you want? Write this down.
Then, you’ve got to specify the present situation.
Where are you now in terms to achieving your goal? Write this down.
This sets the distance between your goal and your present situation. You then know where you are and you
know where you’re going.
Then you’ve got to be more specific in achieving our outcome. So write down what you will be seeing, what will
you be hearing and what will you be feeling when you have this outcome of yours? Whether it is relates to your
health, relationships, career or finances. Think about it right now.
What would you be seeing? Write this down.
How will you know when you’ve got this outcome? Write this down.
What would you be hearing? Write this down.
What would you be feeling? Write this down.
Then when you think of that picture, which creates a joyful feeling, make it bigger, brighter and more intense.
Make the feelings expand inside your awareness, allow that picture to grow really big and be really associated
(looking through your own eyes) inside that picture, and allow your internal self-talk to build you up to that feeling of
having achieved your outcome.
Then you’ve got to find out what your evidence/convincer you have to know that you have achieved your
outcome – so you know, you’ve got it.
How will you know when you have this outcome? Write this down.
This will tell you that you’ve achieved your outcome. When I first became a therapist I developed a procedure of
always understanding ‘what evidence’ my clients needed in order to know that they had achieved their goal. It sounds
obvious but it’s very important to know once you’ve achieved your desired outcome.
Then, is it congruently desirable with you? Write this down.
What will this outcome get for you and allow you to do? Write this down
So for what purpose do you want this outcome? Write this down.
Is it good for yourself, is it good for your environment and is it good for others?
Write this down.
The more that it is good for yourself, others and the people around you, the more beneficial that outcome will be
and therefore be manifested into your life.
Is it self-initiated and self-maintained by you? Write this down.
We’ve got to make sure that you initiate it, that you’re the goal-getter.
Where do you want this outcome in your life? Write this down.
When do you want it? Write this down.
How would you like it to happen? Write this down.
And with whom do you want it? Write this down.
When do you want to achieve your outcome – maybe tomorrow, maybe next week? Obviously it’s got to be a
smart goal – specific, measurable, achievable, realistic (which depends on your definition of realistic) and time
involved. So where do you want it? When do you want it?
And do you need any resources? Write this down.
What do you have now and what do you need to get this outcome? Write this
down.
Have you ever had or done this before? Write this down.
Do you know anyone who has so you can begin to model them? Write this down.
Can you act as if you have it right now? Write this down.
Once again, we’ve got to make sure it’s ecological. And these following questions will be able to change how you
perceive the outcome – even if it feels confusing at first.
So for what purpose do you want this? Write this down.
What will you gain or lose if you get this outcome? Write this down.
What will happen if you get it? Write this down.
What won’t happen if you get it? Write this down.
And then the final two, which will really begin to shift your viewpoint.
What will happen if you don’t get it? Write this down.
We’re really setting up the boundaries here, the real context of the situation.
What won’t happen if you don’t get it? Write this down.
