Instructions for Submitting Show Results

Instructions for Submitting Show Results
First and foremost, copy what you see in the MEMO, except do not use special formatting like bold, italics, etc. and send as a digital MS Word
Document (.DOC), or a Wordpad or Notepad text document (.TXT). I can not use a PDF. Just type out the information in a single column,
left-margined, single space between placings and the goat name etc, no tabs.
The following examples show the preferred format. Pay close attention to capitalization, and the abbreviations. Please do not type the word
class before each class.
Put this information at the top:
REGION 1
Klamath County Fair, Klamath, WA
August 8, 2014
Judges: JT Struthers/J. Torres
Secretary: Diane Keith
Photos: Bobby Jones
CLASS PLACINGS EXAMPLE
Jr. Does 3 to under 6 mo (4,3)
1 2 Shasta View Icing On the Cake-Smith (JCH*)
2 - Little Acres Misty-Jones
3 x Pygmy Acres Ladybug-Foster
Put the number of goats (or showmen) showing in each show in ( ) after the name of the class. When there are 2 or more shows, put a space
between each number then a space, then the name of the goat, then a -, then the last name of the exhibitor. If the goat placed in the first show
and showed but did not place in the second show put a - . If they did not show at all in the second show (or showed in the second but not the
first) put an x. If an animal takes a championship, after the exhibitor’s name put the championship in parentheses (such as JCH) and an asterisk
(*) to tell which show(s). Use these acronyms in the class placings for the champions: Best Wether BW, Reserve Best Wether RBW, Junior
Champion JCH, Reserve Junior Champion RJCH, Grand Champion GCH, etc. For example SCH/GCH for Senior and Grand Champion.
In the example above the class is Junior Does ages 3 to under 6 months old, 4 goats showed in show 1 and 3 goats showed in show 2. Icing on
the Cake placed first in show 1 and second in show 2. She was shown by Smith. She was the Junior champion in the first show. Misty placed
second in show 1 and showed but did not place in show 2. And Ladybug placed third in show 1 and did not show at all in show 2.
When you are finished with all of the class placings just continue on in the same document and list all of the champions as below: Use CH for
champion and RES for Reserve. Use S and D for Sire and Dam. Use all caps for the champion title. Give the last name of the exhibitor only.

PICTURES: Please name the pictures with the name of the goat. Shorten their name, leaving off the herdname, unless there are 2 goats with
the same name in the show. For Whirlwind Farms Precision Built you put Precision Built. Do not name the pictures by their placing in the
show.
Last, but not least, all show results must come to the MEMO editor digitally, not a hard copy as a “package” with all the information and
pictures together. You can send emails back-to-back, if you need to. But, do not send in class placings and a few days later, the pictures.
Incomplete shows will be sent back.
Show Results will be accepted by email, DropBox or a similar service, or on disk via snail mail. No Facebook. I am fine with getting results
by email. Or you can put all the necessary files in a folder on your desktop and drop it into DropBox. It is quick, simple and free. Be sure to
send me the notice that you have files for me in DropBox.
If you have any questions, please, feel free to contact me at [email protected]
I will type out your show results for you if you send the class sheets and champion information, including sire and dam. The charge is $50.00
for the weekend event, up to 3 shows. Pictures must still be submitted digitally.
