ATTACHMENT C Portland Public Schools Career Learning Requirements A. Registration on Oregon Connections 1) The Contractor is required to register on the District’s approved Career Learning database tool, Oregon Connections, which is located at http://oregonconnections.nepris.com When registering, the Contractor must follow the detailed instructions attached. 2) The Contractor must offer career learning opportunities as follows: a) If this contract has a value between $100,000 and $1,000,000, Contractor must: Register with Oregon Connections and offer at least two Career Learning opportunities to PPS students, and Complete the attached fillable “Business Profile Template” and return with your contract. b) If this contract has a value greater than $1,000,000, the Contractor must: Register with Oregon Connections and offer at least four Career Learning opportunities for PPS students; Complete the attached fillable “Business Profile Template” and return with your contract; and Register to participate as an exhibitor in the Portland Workforce Alliance’s annual Northwest Youth Careers Expo every year during the active term of the contract. Follow the detailed registration instructions attached. (If Contractor is unable to participate as an exhibitor, Contractor must register to participate as a sponsor at an equivalent level.) B. Program Administration 1) Contractors will report registrations to the District prior to contract execution: The Contractor must submit the registration confirmation email or similar proof of registration to the District with its signed contract. The Contractor must submit the “Business Profile Template” to the District with its signed contract. For contracts greater than $1,000,000, the Contractor must submit proof of registration for the Northwest Youth Careers Expo to the District with its signed contract. 2) Contractors will receive requests from schools through Oregon Connections to provide Career Learning opportunities to PPS students. 3) Contractors will coordinate with the District’s Career Pathways Department and local school Career Coordinators to plan, schedule, and conduct events. 4) Career Coordinators will coordinate student participation before and during scheduled events and activities. Create a Professional Profile: Identify your experience/expertise and the types of activities you are willing to participate in. 3. Submit a Business Profile: Enter a brief description of your company, which allows educators to tailor their requests to your industry and specialties. That’s it! Under “role” and “organization”, select “Industry Professional” and “Corporation.” C. Under “Preferred School Districts,” enter “Portland SD 1J.” D. Fill in the boxes requiring information about your industry, company, position, and skills. Be sure to enter “PPS_Procurement” in the “Your Affiliations” field. It shows students the region's amazing diversity of career opportunities, as well as the skills and education needed for those jobs. The Expo's goals are to connect employers to their future workforce and help students make informed, inspired decisions about their education after high school – whether they choose a four-year university, community college or apprenticeship training center.
