When it comes to athletics and academics, The Bear Creek School
excels at both. Bear Creek band and choir placed first in the 2B
division of the 2008-2009 Washington Interscholastic Activities
Association Scholastic Bowl.

Band and choir both scored 100 points in the statewide competition
that measures academics, academics and sportsmanship. The band
members hold an average G.P.A. of 3.64, and choir members an
average G.P.A. of 3.57. Other Bear Creek fine arts groups and winter

sports also placed high in the competition with drama placing 2 , girls

basketball 3 , boys basketball 6 and the cheer team placing 7 .

“Our high rankings in the WIAA Scholastic Bowl illustrate how
important it is for us to have well-rounded students that excel both
academically and in extra-curricular activities,” says Chad Pohlman,
Athletic Director at The Bear Creek School. “We are very proud of all

The Bear Creek School, a leader in classical education for Grades K12 in the Pacific Northwest, offers a rigorous college preparatory
curriculum from a Christian worldview. The Bear Creek School
challenges students to reach their intellectual, emotional and spiritual
potential through academics, WIAA athletics, fine arts, community
service programs and many other educational and social activities.
The Bear Creek School’s curriculum includes AP and Honors classes
in its Upper School program. Founded in 1988, the school serves
students from the greater Eastside and is housed on two campuses.
The Redmond Campus on Union Hill serves K- 12 students and the
Valley Campus, also in Redmond, serves K - 6 students. The Bear
Creek School is accredited by the Northwest Association of Schools,
Colleges and Universities and the Pacific Northwest Association of
Independent Schools.
