Continuing Education Requirement
Who Must Complete the Continuing Education
Requirement (CER)?
 All Coaches - Varsity, Varsity Assts, JV, B-Squad,
paid and volunteer
 League Sponsored Fine Arts Coaches, Advisors and
Directors
What must they Complete?
Annual Rules Interpretation meeting
 Continuing Education Requirement (CER)


 ALL Coaches
 Requirement
must be met by all coaches
 Renew CER every 3 years
 The Rules Interpretation Meeting is
required annually
 Deadlines follow the Rule Interpretation
Meeting timelines
 Delivered online
Creating the Coaches Clipboard Page
 Click on the Coaches Tab on the top of the MSHSL
website
 Create a clipboard page by inserting an email and
password
 Enter name, sports and school where you coach
 Answer the remaining question regarding how you
meet the state law. Only head coaches need to meet
the State Law
 Varsity Assts., JV, B-Squad, Cheer Coaches and Fine
Arts Coaches/Directors do not need to meet the State
Law to coach in MN

FOLLOW THE PROMPTED QUESTIONS:
 Enter name, sports and school where you coach
 Complete the CER
 Complete the Rules Interpretation Meeting
 Visit often to retrieve messages and other valuable
timely information
 Date will appear when your renewal must take
place
Effective for the Fall of 2011
 Coaches must complete all 4 chapters of the CER




prior to having access to the Rules Interpretation
Meeting
A checkmark will appear in front of the link upon
completion of that Chapter
Once you begin a chapter you can stop and then
return to it at a later time to complete
The Rule Interpretation Meeting link will not be
active until Chapters 1-4 are complete
The Rule Interpretation Meeting will only be
available during the dates listed under the link
