The Pavilion and outdoor arenas will be available for
longing/riding throughout the show.
Directions to the Iowa State Fairgrounds
For our new guests, we have provided a map with
driving directions to the Fairgrounds and a map of the
facility grounds in the MAPS packet.
JACOBSON ARENA HOURS
Wednesday, April 29 opens 8 AM
Note: Arena will be closed for riding Wednesday at 4
PM for the Over Fence classes. Arena will open for
riding following the conclusion of the fence classes
until 10 PM.
We will have poles available in the Pavilion for trail
practice.
STALLS
Stalls will be available Tuesday, April 28 at noon.
Reserved stalls must be prepaid. All stalls include 3
bags of shavings. Additional shavings may be ordered
at the show, $8 per bag. No jump outs. Every horse
must have a stall.
Stalls $135, including 3 bags shavings, reserved/paid
by April 1; $150 paid after April 1. No refunds after
April 1.
RV Camping… arranged with/paid to Iowa State
Fairgrounds. Lot on Dean Avenue (electricity
only) or ISF Campgrounds (services). No
reservations/no refunds.
FLAT ENTRY FEE
Your $150 Flat Entry Fee includes any and all
AQHA and/or IQHA class entry fees, the AQHA
drug/administration fee and the IQHA fees for one
horse to show to six judges. The flat fee does not
include stall or shavings and does not include the
NSBA Dual-Approved class entry fees.
NSBA DUAL-APPROVED
CLASSES
The Mayflower is offering NSBA DualApproved classes under two judges, Rob Meneely
during the Thursday/Friday show and Dean Bogart
during the Saturday/Sunday show. Entry fees for the
NSBA Dual-Approved classes are not included in the
flat entry fee but are a very reasonable $5 per class per
judge.
*The classes from the first show, April 29May 1, will count for NSBA 2015 World Show
Qualifying. The classes from the second show, May 13, will count for NSBA 2016 World Show Qualifying.
AQHA YOUTH WORLD
SHOW QUALIFYING?
The AQHA National Youth World Show
Qualifying period ends April 30. We have been
advised by AQHA Show Department that the first set
of shows (Wed/Thu/Fri) will count for 2015 YWS
national qualifying. The second set of shows
(Sat/Sun) will count toward 2016 YWS national
qualifying.
IOWA SHOW BUCKS?
You can redeem your 2014 IQHA Year End Award
Show Bucks on your Mayflower show tab by
submitting them WITH your entries and flat entry fee
or stall check.
HIGH POINT ALL AROUND
AWARDS
Only AQHA classes count toward division high point
all around awards. Halter required for Open,
Amateur, Amateur Select, Novice Amateur, Youth
13/Under, Youth 14-18 and Novice Youth. Novice
and Select exhibitors to show in Youth or Amateur
halter, with points counting toward the High Point
(will only count in one division). Green classes do not
count to High Point. Must show to all 6 judges.

AWARDS
In addition to the Circuit Awards and High Point All
Around Awards, Mayflower will present awards for:
High Point Halter Horse
High Point English Horse
High Point Western Horse
CIRCUIT AWARDS
Awarded in each AQHA and IQHA class.
YOUTH 9/UNDER WALK
TROT CLASSES
IQHA offers walk trot classes in
Showmanship, Western Pleasure, Horsemanship,
Trail, Hunter Under Saddle and Equitation for youth
9 years old and younger. All classes are only
walk/trot, with simple patterns.
Horses do not have to meet AQHA youth
ownership requirements, but must be AQHA
registered and AQHA registration papers must be
presented with entry.
These classes are not AQHA-approved,
however they are NSBA-approved so entries in the
NSBA class must meet NSBA requirements of entry
to earn NSBA points.
A youth may not win a High Point or Circuit
Award in the same class in Youth 13/Under or
Novice Youth and Youth 9/Under.

The Iowa Amateurs will be hosting their
popular Coffee Bar again on Friday morning, with
delicious options to get your day started.
The Iowa Youth will be flipping pancakes for
you on Saturday morning.
See Award Rules posted at the show for details. Awards
must be picked up at the show. Awards will not be
shipped.
SWEET TOOTH
LEADLINE
IQHA offers a leadline class for child riders.
There is not an age limit on the rider, however, the
rider may not show in any other class.
RANDOM ACTS OF PRIZES
The Mayflower has some great random draw
prizes that will go home with a lucky exhibitor from
each show division, such as the wonderful Mayflower
Rocking Chair presented to an Amateur Select
Exhibitor.

Coffee and donuts will be in the Horse Barn
Stall Office Thursday and Sunday mornings,
Saturday during the noon break, the Iowa
Youth will offer their annual Pie & Cake Auction
fundraiser. You can always get something chocolate
here! And the Strawberry-Rhubarb Pies are definitely
the favorite.
FEED ME
The Mayflower Exhibitor Party will be Friday
Evening.
The Iowa Youth will be flipping pancakes for
you on Saturday morning.
The Iowa Youth will be hosting the annual
pizza party Saturday evening.
WHEN CAN WE ARRIVE?
The stall barn will open for arrival Tuesday, April 28
at noon. You must check in at the stall office, located
in the northeast corner of the Horse Barn, for your
stall assignments. You may order additional bedding
you need there and it will be delivered to your stalls.
No outside bedding allowed.
WHERE CAN WE RIDE?
In addition to Jacobson Arena and the warm
up area between the barn and arena, the Pavilion will
be open for riding and longing each day, beginning
Tuesday, April 28 at noon. There are also outdoor
arenas available for riding/longing throughout the
show.
There will not be longing allowed in the
Jacobson Arena warm up area during show hours and
longing will not be allowed in the Jacobson Arena
during any show breaks.
HIDE N SEEK
The Mayflower is SEEKING exhibitors to
come join our fun. The Exhibitor traveling the
farthest distance at the Mayflower will take home one
of the branded Mayflower HIDES. (Because we like
to share the love, exhibitors who have won this prize
and return are ineligible to win it again.)

SHOPPING?
We have several vendors supporting and
attending the Mayflower again this year to have lots
of stuff you need and (even better) lots of stuff you
want.
The Iowa Amateurs will be holding a Gift
Basket Auction during the show. Be sure to shop the
baskets – keep in mind Mother’s Day is the following
weekend 
TEAM TOURNAMENT
Sign up for free participation in the
Mayflower Team Tournament at the entry office by
7:00 PM on Wednesday evening. EVERYONE
WELCOME! Teams of five (5) will be drawn to
include open, amateur, youth and novice exhibitors.
Points kept on horse/exhibitor combination.
Team Tournament competition will be held
during the Thursday/Friday shows, with placings
under three judges to count. NSBA classes will also
count to team total.
Thanks to our generous sponsors, prizes will
be awarded to the members of the top three teams.
NUMBER LAMINATING
The IQHYA will have a table offering
exhibitor number laminating during the Mayflower,
for a small donation.
Orville Delf, of Tim Delf Quarter Horses and
Custom Tails, is the generous sponsor of the Lucky
Dog Daily Draw. Dogs should get their humans to
sign up for this drawing at the Mayflower Show
Office.
PERFORMANCE HALTER
EXHIBITORS
Please notice the change in our halter
schedule from the traditional order of classes. We will
start each group with the Performance Halter class
before the Yearlings. This will allow those
performance horses that are not called back for Grand
and Reserve to go ahead and get ready for their
Showmanship or Trail classes sooner.

class sponsorship gets your name into the drawing for

show is the Iowa Quarter Horse Association State
Show, benefitting the IQHA, its districts 1, 2 and 5

entries/stalls will be cashed 4/1/15. No refunds after

PHOTOGRAPHY
The Mayflower has an official show
photographer in place. Bar H Photography will be
shooting in the arena during the show on
Thursday/Friday and will have the official
Mayflower Backdrop set up in the Horse Barn for
posed and award photos during the show
Saturday/Sunday.
Any commercial photography and/or videography
taken of subjects within the show facility without prior
written consent from show management is expressly
forbidden. No professional photographers or videographers
advertising services and/or capturing images for sale, or
free distribution, are allowed without the express written
permission from the Mayflower Show.
