Consignment Contract
1. RISK OF CONSIGNMENT: Articles will be consigned at the consignor’s risk. Neither the Friends of Camp
Darby nor the employees of Second Glance Thrift Store will be held responsible for items that are loast,
damaged or stolen while on consignment.
2. CONSIGNMENT COMMISSION RATE: The commission rate of the Second Glance is 25% of the selling price.
3. PRIVATE TRANSACTIONS: We ask that you do not conduct private transactions (sales) inside or outside of
Second Glance. Persons found doing so will be barred from shopping in Second Glance for a period of six (6)
months. Not following contract stipulations will also result in the loss of shopping privileges.
4. CONDITION OF ITEMS: All items must be clean, odor free, and in saleable condition. Clothing must not be
outdated, torn, stained or discolored. Out of date and out of season items will be refused. Electrical items
must work properly and will be tested by a Thrift Store employee before it will be consigned. Any item that
comes with parts must have all of the parts present at the time of consignment. Second Glance employees
reserve the right to refuse or accept any item.
5. NUMBER OF ITEMS TO CONSIGN: Twenty (20) items may be consigned per week (20 items over the course
of our weekly operating hours.) Exception to policy: if a member presents PCS/retirement orders or an
official military document stating they have an upcoming PCS/retirement date than that person may consign
20 items per day for no more than 6 months prior to their departure date or set an appointment. The
number of items accepted will depend on the amount of spaces we have on our sales floor.
6. ITEMS NOT ACCEPTED: The following items WILL NOT be accepted: stained socks, used undergarments,
liquids, flammables, used automotive parts, military uniforms, car seats, cribs, and perishable items. In
accordance with the Army in Europe Regulation 210-22 dated 13 August 2010, “Thrift Shops may not sell
items supplied by commercial vendors. Consignors may not sell goods made with components obtained
duty-free through an Army post office (APO) or within 6 months after purchase from an AAFES facility.
Consignors may not sell items to any non-SOFA status individual or firm.” The FCD that operates the thrift
shop or ASG delegated BSB Commander may suspend sales privileges for individual or group consignors who
do not comply with the policy.
7. SEASONAL CLOTHING: We will accept seasonal clothing according to the following schedule unless the
current weather situation dictates differently.

Winder clothing
15 March – 15 August
15 September – 15 February
8. CONSIGNMENT STIPULATIONS: During the first 30 days of consignment, the item consigned will sell as
originally priced. On the 31st day through the 60th day, the item consigned will sell at 75% of its original
price. On the 61st day, the item consigned will become Second Glance property. If the item is more than
$25.00 it can be consigned again as long as the customer requests it. The consignment can be done by the
customer or the Second Glance staff.
9. PAYMENT TO CONSIGNOR: Second Glance’s commission rate on your item(s) is currently 25% of the selling
price. Payment in the form of a check drawn on a US bank in US funds will be available monthly for the
consignor, on or after the 5th day of the month, for the previous month’s sales. The consignor has two
options for receiving their check:
a. Check(s) may be picked up at Second Glance during operating hours only by the person(s) indicated as
consignor below.
b. Check(s) may be mailed to the consignor if the consignor provides Second Glance three (3) pre-addressed
and stamped or MPS’d envelopes at the time of the contract.
c. ANY CHECKS NOT PICKED UP WITHIN 120 DAYS OF THE DATE OF THE CHECK WILL RESULT IN THE MONEY
EARNED REVERTING TO SECOND GLANCE. ANY CHECKS NOT CASHED WITHIN SIX (6) MONTHS OF THE DATE
OF THE CHECK WILL RESULT IN THE MONEY EARNED REVERTING TO SECOND GLANCE AND THE CHECK WILL
BE VOIDED.
10. SEVEN DAY HOLD POLICY: I understand and agree that any electrical item I consign that cannot be tested
at time of consignment (VCR, etc) is subject to the seven day purchase plan: customer pays for and takes the
item on day one and the money is held for seven (7) calendar days. If the customer returns the item within
the seven days, the money is refunded and the item is rejected or returned to the shelf. If not, the money is
deposited and the item is logged as being sold on the seventh day or next business day.
11. 24-HOUR HOLD POLICY: I understand that a customer may place an item on hold for 24-hours or until the
next business day with no money down. If the customer does not return within the 24-hours or by the next
business day the item will be returned to the shelf.
My signature below certifies that I have read, understand and agree to the terms and conditions of this
contract. This contract supersedes any previous contract between the consignor and Second Glance Thrift
Store.
