YMCA Pepsi Summer Basketball League Coach Letter
We did our best to accommodate division and night request. If you are not scheduled on a requested night of play this means that
your OPPONENT had a different request for night of play and it is impossible to accommodate both. Please make every attempt to
play when you are scheduled. If you asked for double headers and did not get your requested night then we may not have given
you a double header on that day. We also were not able to accommodate every double header request. We have limited space to
reschedule games. Please contact me, the legwork of rescheduling would be up to you.
We are using Southwest, North Star, Lincoln High, East, Culler Middle School and Northeast. Game times will be
5:45/6:45/7:45/8:45. Please respect all facilities and leave your area clean after every game. Arrive 15 minutes early, but remain
away from bench area until previous game is completed. A game may start early if both coaches/officials agree. If you are not
directly responsible for your teams this summer please distribute information to your coaches.
Chairs must have protective covering. LPS does not provide chairs for spectators. Pop and gum are not allowed in the gyms. No
writing on the Floor. Please do not abuse school policies.
Shirts will be available at your first game. Any player who has not paid the registration fee should NOT be given a shirt by you
until fee is paid. If you need to know who still needs to pay, please call. If you need to give money to our Site Supervisors please
make sure that the money is marked with your information. To simplify things please have all entries paid to the YMCA
Youth Sports office before the first game. Every player must wear this year’s league shirt during a game. A player may not
play without a league shirt after second week of play (unless an added player).
Do not confront a YMCA supervisor after any game in a heated manner. Do not approach an official after a game. This is a
developmental league for the officials also. Call the Youth Sports office the next day if necessary.
Any athlete/coach/player/fans being rude, inconsiderate or disruptive to officials, other coaches, site supervisors or other fans will
be subject to suspension and possible expulsion from the league by the directors.. This is a developmental league - not a
competitive league - proper behavior is required.
A coach/fan behavior/diversity policy/rules/court location are available online.
IMPORTANT: No dunking by player/non player/fan/coach before or after a game. This action will not be tolerated. Players must
stay off the rims during this time and any damage to rims/backboard etc. will be at the expense of the party responsible for the
damage. We will not hesitate to suspend a player from future games with no refund.
If your team cannot make a scheduled game - you must notify the YMCA and the other team. A team that does not show for a
game and neglects to notify the other team or the YMCA will be charged $50.00. A further no show would result in expulsion and
possible probation from future YMCA leagues/events/tournaments.
