Wangaratta Netball Association Inc Registration No: A0004413M email: [email protected] www.wangarattanetball.com.au PO Box 830, Schilling Drive Wangaratta 3677 P: 5721 9194 (competition only) JUNIOR COMPETITION 2017 GENERAL INFORMATION Age requirements To be eligible to play Saturday Junior Competition players must be between the ages of 11 and 17 as at the 31st December in the current year NetSetGo participants cannot play in the Junior competition Boys 13 and under are eligible to play in this competition – refer to Bylaws for additional information Registration All players, coaches and umpires must be registered members of Netball Victoria and Wangaratta Netball Association prior to taking the court. Completed Registration/Indemnity/ Consent form is only required if a team members, coach or team umpires has not registered online. A player, coach or umpire is only required to pay their Netball Victorian membership once for the current year. Coaches can request evidence of payment from the player Under Netball Victoria regulations introduced in 2017 all adult coaches, team managers and umpires must provide evidence of a valid working with children check. Registered players can only play for one team in the Junior Competition Each team must supply at least one (1) to a maximum of three (3) umpires. Team umpire must be available to umpire each week either the match before or after they play. Team personnel need to ensure that their nominated umpire is umpiring each week Beginner and Inexperience umpire training is available at no additional cost to Netball Victoria membership. Training alternates between Tuesday and Thursday afternoon. Dates and times will be on WNA website Experience umpire training is held on Monday night. Dates and times will be on the WNA website An adult contact name and phone number must be listed on Team Registration Sheet who will be the liaison for all communication purposes Any team playing an unregistered player or player from another team shall result in the loss of four (4) premiership points win or lose AND should a team win a match with a non-registered player the premiership points are forfeited to the opposing team Players not registered with a team in the Junior competition may playup to four (4) games of netball on a Single Game Voucher, provided they purchase a voucher BEFORE commencement of each game. If the player then decides to register for the rest of the season the voucher payments will NOT be deducted from the registration fee, as it is completely independent. Single Game Vouchers do not count for finals eligibility in Saturday Junior competition. A player must play at least five (5) games with their registered team throughout the season and be fully registered to be eligible to participate in the Finals series. Team found playing an ineligible player in finals will be considered to have lost that game Team Manager to provide coach with a list of registered players Conduct of Game The Association would appreciate any team forfeiting to give prior notice so the opposing team can be notified in advance to prevent unnecessary traveling Team representative and umpires to report to the appropriate window at least 10 minutes before the scheduled game start time No jewellery, earrings or adornment may be worn during the game All players must be in full correct uniform when taking the court (Girls-skirt; Boys-sport shorts) Only two (2) boys per team permitted on the court at one time and they do not need to be opposed to a boy player. Boy players must play in separate thirds. Refer to Bylaws for additional information Page 1 of 2 JCGIV3/2017 Wangaratta Netball Association Inc Registration No: A0004413M email: [email protected] www.wangarattanetball.com.au PO Box 830, Schilling Drive Wangaratta 3677 P: 5721 9194 (competition only) Game time slots for 2017 are: 8:30am 9:25am 10:20am Quarter time breaks: 2 minutes at each break & 3 minutes at half time Players not on Court are to stand on sideline with coach to form Official Bench Coaches must not walk up and down the side of the court Scoring Only names of players present and in uniform to be listed on official score sheet Ensure the registered name of the player is recorded on the score sheet A non-participating scorer from both teams to stand together for the duration of the game on the sideline level with the centre circle Injury If a player is injured the player may be taken from the court and replaced. Both teams can make positional changes if they wish. Injured player cannot return to court until quarter or half time break if replaced. An unreplaced player may return to the court after a goal is scored to the vacant position All injuries to be reported to the Clubrooms and complete an Injury Incident form at the discretion of the injured player or players’ guardian Blood rule – any player who is bleeding must be removed from the court immediately to be attended too Canteen Roster Teams will be rostered to assist in the Canteen to coincide with your team’s playing time. Most teams are only required to assist once for the season. The Canteen roster is prepared in advance and it would be appreciated if coaches organise parents/guardians to assist our Canteen Coordinators to raise funds to keep fees at a minimum Spectators Team Managers/Coaches please ensure that all team spectators respect the “umpires areas” around the court and move back when requested Other Rule books available for purchase from clubrooms Ice packs available from Canteen All teams are required to supply: Balls – warmup and practice Positional Bibs (sets available from office if colours clash) First aid kit to assist with minor injuries Wangaratta Netball Association does not provide Sunscreen Umpire training sessions are available.
