How to Enter:
To enter the Rate My Space competition, email up to three (3) photographs of
your room in JPEG format to [email protected] with Your Name, Hall,
Room Number, and Room Type before 12pm on Friday, September 26. You
must also submit a Participation Agreement Form to the Residential Life Office
by 12pm on Friday, September 26. All submitted rooms must be in full
compliance with the Room and Board Agreement to qualify.
Judging:
A panel of Judges from Residential Life and Housing will look through the
submission photos and select the top submissions in each category. The Judges will then visit the top rooms submitted in each of the
categories above and determine the best winner in each category. The Best Overall Room winner will be selected from any of the
categories. Students do not need to be present during the judging. Preliminary judging from photograph submissions and
announcing Finalists will take place on September 29, and final judging in-person will take place on September 30. Winners will be
announced Wednesday, October 1, 2014. Because of the short time frame in between announcing Finalists and conducting final, inperson judging, please have your room clean, organized, decorated, and prepared for Judges visiting for final, in-person judging on
the morning/afternoon of Tuesday, September 30. You do not need to be present during judging; staff will be let into your room for
purposes of the competition.
Winners:
There will be one (1) winner per category, and a room may only win in one (1) category. The winners in each category will have their
rooms photographed by a professional photographer, and those photos will be used to publicize their winning. The Best Overall
Room winner’s occupants will win iPad minis. The winners in the other four categories will win a sweet snack bag from UNH’s Dining
Services. All winning rooms will receive a certificate for their achievement.
Terms and Conditions:
The Rate My Space competition is open to all undergraduate UNH students living in undergraduate residence hall housing. By submitting
your room into the “Rate My Space” Competition, you explicitly agree to allow UNH the right to use photographs of your room (your
submitted photos or photos that UNH employees take) on the UNH website for as long as we desire. You agree to allow the final judges of
the “Rate My Space” competition to access your room in order to determine the winners of all categories. You agree to allow university
employees to take photographs of your room for the “Rate My Space” competition. Additionally, you give permission and understand that
members of the UNH Community may be able to view one or more photograph(s) online (including Facebook) and may vote on said
photographs. You also agree to allow UNH University to print your name* as either a winner or participant in various contexts related to
the “Rate My Space” Competition. You understand that if your room wins and you are unable to participate in collecting your “prize” when
it is offered, there will be no substitution of any sort. (*If you wish to have your name kept private, please check the box by your name
labeled “Do not publish my name”. If this box is unchecked, you are explicitly agreeing to allow UNH to print your name in various contexts
related to the “Rate My Space” Competition.)
All rooms must be in full compliance with the Room and Board Agreement to participate in “Rate My Space.” Rooms not in compliance
will be disqualified at any point during the competition. To help determine if you are in compliance, please refer to the partial list below
and see the Room and Board Agreement at unh.edu/housing for complete regulations. Rooms that are not in compliance with the
guidelines, forms that do not have all roommate signatures, late submissions, and submissions without photos or with poor-quality
photos will be automatically disqualified from participating.
Compliance:
Things NOT allowed in your rooms include: overloaded electrical outlets, excessive extension cords, unauthorized appliances,
halogen lamps, unauthorized furniture, missing window screens, incorrectly lofted beds, and illegal items. Please refer to the Room
