Trophy Guidelines
Quiet Achiever
Criterion:
1. A person who is performing acts in a non-playing role (but may also be
a playing member) and does not usually get recognition for their efforts.
2. This award involves committee members nominating anyone who they
feel fits the description. Nominations will be collected and the
committee will vote for who they think is most deserving of the award.
3. If it is seen that no one is deserving of the award for that year, the
Quiet Achiever award may not be handed out.
4. Examples: For instance a person on the committee going well above
their call of duty in regards to their position, volunteering time and effort
towards improving the club. A coach who continues to coach year after
year.
Club Person of the Year
Criterion:
1. A person who is performing acts in a non-playing role (but may also be
a playing member) well above their call of duty.
2. This award involves the secretary emailing out to all club members
asking for nominations. These nominations are to be collated by the
secretary and the committee will vote on who they think is the most
worthy recipient.
3. Examples: A person who assists in club fundraising events, setting up
and packing up of equipment and generally helping around the club.
This person may also hold a position on the committee and or be a
coach. This award is not limited to only the activities mentioned above.
Rising Star
Criterion:
1. A player who has shown significant improvement / potential throughout
the season for MBCC.
2. This player must be 21 years or under in age.
3. The secretary is to call for nominations from the club, these will be
collated and the committee will vote for the most worthy recipient.
4. Statistics may have an influence in determining the appropriate
recipient.
Junior Player of the Year
Criterion:
1. To qualify for this award the junior must be playing in either U14’s or
U16’s for MBCC in the current season.
2. Junior Coaches are to do a 3, 2, 1 in votes for best players of each
game.
3. From here all the votes are to be tallied up and the player with the most
votes at the end of the minor rounds, is the winner.
4. If there is a tie in votes there will be multiple awards given.
Senior Player of the Year
Criterion:
1. To qualify for this award you must play senior cricket in the current
season and votes are only based on senior performances.
2. Senior Coaches and Captains are to do a 3, 2, 1 in votes for best
players of each game.
3. From here all the votes are to be tallied up and the player with the most
votes at the end of the minor rounds, is the winner.
4. If there is a tie in votes there will be multiple awards given.
5. The winning recipient is based on performances in the highest grade of
the club.
Other Achievement Awards
Criterion:
1. Outstanding performance in either junior or senior cricket throughout
the year.
2. Did not win a batting or bowling trophy and therefore is eligible to win
an achievement trophy on outstanding performance shown.
3. The committee is to decide whether the trophy is necessary and
nominations are only accepted from the club coaches of all grades and
or senior captains.
Batting Award All Grade
Criterion:
1. The player with the most runs as per MyCricket from U14’s and above.
2. Includes all minor round games, however not finals.
Bowling Award All Grade
Criterion:
1. The player with the wickets as per MyCricket from U14’s and above.
2. Includes all minor round games, however not finals.
Participation Medals
Criterion:
1. Each player from U10’s and U12’s is to receive a participation medal in
recognition of good performance / participation throughout the season.
