Annual Taste of Spring on May 18th 5:30pm-7:30pm. The
evening will be filled with live entertainment, appetizers,
raffles and student talent. And tickets will be available at the
Pen-High accounting office.
The Samosa Express food truck will be at Pen High on
Friday, May 12th at lunch from 12:00pm-2:00 pm.

common area at lunchtime. Makes an excellent Mother’s Day
gift!
The Pen-High Athletic Awards Banquet will be held May
23rd from 5 to 8pm in the gym. All Pen-High Athletes (who
paid fees) are welcome and encouraged to come for food and
door prizes. Tickets for door prizes will be available at lunch
starting next week. See Mr. grant if you have any questions.
Did you know that 1 in 3 kids don’t have shoes in Zambia.
That’s like saying that 400 kids in our school wouldn’t own a
single pair of shoes! Please show your support in putting more
shoes on kids feet by donating your old shoes in the office
today! You can donate your shoes up until the end of next
Monday. Thank you for your support.
HAWAIIAN BEACH CLOTHES DAY! May 12th.
As the warm weather approaches again, finally, please be
attentive to the following item as we progress into the
final two months of the school year.
Dress Code: Pen High is a public building and in keeping with
our professional image it is important to be cognizant of the
image we present.
Students should follow the following guidelines when
preparing to come to school in the morning.
•
Very short shorts and very short skirt lengths
•
Too much skin:
i.
Stomachs, mid-riffs, backless shirts skin should not
be visible.
ii.
Transparent tops, low cut tops, and beach wear are
not considered appropriate school attire.
•
T-shirt logos and slogans: Please remember that the
message or writing on your t-shirt should be in good taste.
Images or words depicting or promoting offensive ideas may
result in a referral to administration.
•
Bare feet: In the interest of hygiene be reminded
that footwear should be worn at all times while in the building.
Prom tickets will be available for purchase in the
Accounting Office starting on Monday June 5th for $75.00.
Tickets will not be sold to anyone with overdue Textbooks or
Library materials. Guest request forms are available in the
main office.

Europe trip 2018 Italy - There are now 25 participants on
the Italy trip. We will continue to take applications. Please
see Mrs. Gowe in room 100 for information on this exciting
travel opportunity.
Colour Run - Looking for a fun adventure with friends? The
2017 Wildstone Colours 4 Kids Run is happening at
LocoLanding Adventure Park on Sunday June 11th. You’ll get
colourful, you’ll laugh and you’ll give back to charity while
doing so. All proceeds go to the OSNS Child Development
Centre. Walk, jog, shuffle, skip or run – it’s perfect for all
ages! Cost is $20 and includes a t-shirt, sunglasses and colour
pack. Pick up a registration form in the office or from one of
the Senior Leadership students!

The 2017 Monsanto Fund Opportunity Scholarship Program
provides 65 awards of $1500 to high school students who are
entering programs in agriculture, food science or culinary arts
at Canadian colleges/universities. Deadline: June 15

The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists
of British Columbia is now accepting scholarship applications
from BC students graduating from high school in 2017.
Students entering engineering or geoscience programs at the
University of British Columbia, the University of Northern
British Columbia, the University of Victoria, British Columbia
Institute of Technology, or Simon Fraser University may apply
for the Entrance Scholarship, valued at $2,500. Completed
applications and letters of reference must be received by
