NRL Sports Trainer Club Audit

NATIONAL TRAINER / CLUB AUDIT
NRL SPORTS TRAINERS’
ACCREDITATION SCHEME
1|Page
The National Rugby League Sports Trainers’ Accreditation Scheme was introduced to provide a
structure and improve the level of care to all that play the game of Rugby League. To continue to
provide a first class level of care to the players of the game, it is necessary to introduce an audit
procedure so that clubs and individuals are aware of the minimum requirements needed to safely
manage any injury or incident that may occur during training or at a game.
This audit procedure provides a frame work in which an audit process can be conducted into clubs
and divisions within the game of rugby league in each State and Territory nationally.
By providing this framework, this procedure will provide a fair and equitable process so that all clubs
and Trainers in the game of Rugby League can comply with the growing requirements of the National
Rugby League Sports Trainers’ Accreditation Scheme, despite the individual clubs status or financial
standing.
This audit procedure will be carried out by relevant qualified staff approved by the NRLSTAS. These
audits would normally be conducted by NRL Development Officers and National Rugby League
accredited Providers for the Sports Trainer Scheme and reporting back to the relevant co-ordinators
for areas of responsibility.
The establishment of this policy will provide the minimum requirements required by a club and
individuals when present at Rugby League games. After an audit is completed, the assessor
conducting the audit will provide feedback to the club or individual and a specified time period to
improve their position so that they meet the requirements of the scheme.
The determination of the relevant time periods of compliance will be done in consultation with the
NRLSTAS.
This procedure is to be read in conjunction with the National On Field Policy.
