What BADMINTON England will provide to The school
What BADMINTON England require in return from The School
1. Programme Objectives:
BADMINTON England will provide the product of SmashUp! in order to achieve the following
objectives:
Increase the number of students taking part in OSHL physical activity
Appealing to a wider audience engaging them in physical activity
Increase the number of girls taking part in activity
Increase the skills of Young Leaders to enable them to facilitate SmashUp! sessions
Increase the number of students accessing sustainable exit routes such as, National Schools
Competition, local clubs etc
Providing trained experts to deliver activities reducing dependency on valuable teacher time
2. Provision of Services:
Badminton England’s commitment
BADMINTON England will provide:
First 6 weeks* delivery of SmashUp! for FREE (Quality Assured & Sport England approved
product)
A BADMINTON England approved SmashUp! Activator who will:
 Have completed a DBS disclosure and are covered under our Civil Liability Insurance
Policy
 Lead high energy and engaging sessions acting as Ambassadors to the SmashUp!
programme
 Drive sessions forward, seeking to recruit & retain a minimum of 16 players within 6
weeks
After Sales and Service support to assist with any questions you may have
Templates to support an application for external funding to delivering SmashUp!
Access to branded products with the option to purchase discounted equipment
FREE automatic entry to the National Schools Competition
FREE affiliation to BADMINTON England
The opportunity to up skill staff / young leaders to deliver SmashUp!
Innovative activities that engage a new market of young people in activity outside of school
hours
Appropriate marketing tools including, videos and interactive posters
*Must commit to delivering 30 weeks in total
3. The Schools commitment
The school will:
Deliver SmashUp! for a minimum of 30 weeks over the academic year outside of curriculum time
(minimum of one hour per week)
Provide use of sports hall to run session including 15mins set up/down time
Establish sessions within 4 weeks of being matched with a Activator
Promote the sessions to students using the marketing tools provided
Support the deployment of the Activator agreeing payment terms directly or
Support the development of a SmashUp! Leader (Teacher/Young Leader) and the purchasing of a
kit to enable sessions to be delivered
Support Activators to capture data by allowing Young People to use their mobile phones in
sessions
Ensure that all Safeguarding procedures are followed and shared with the Activator upon
agreement of their delivery including any appropriate recording of their DBS (CRB) check
4. Signing the agreement
BADMINTON England is committed to providing equal treatment for all its staff, members,
associated members, prospective members, guests and prospective guests in compliance with
the Equality Act 2010. You confirm by entering into this agreement that you agree to comply
with BADMINTON England’s Equality and Diversity Policy in carrying out any Services under this
Agreement. Failure to comply will allow BADMINTON England to terminate this Agreement
under clause 10.
BADMINTON England has a zero tolerance to bribery (in line with the Bribery Act 2010) and will
only engage with organisations to provide services who subscribe to this approach.
