Knitting
Lunchtime Beginning Knitting with Geanie
You’ll make a relaxing neck cuddle while you learn to cast on, knit, purl, cast off, and sew up your
project. And you’ll get back to work on time!
Starts: Tuesday, Feb 10
Times: 12:15pm – 12:45pm
Duration: ½ hr per week for 6 weeks

Materials: Yarn, knitting needles, leaflet, pattern, tapestry needle for sewing up
Beginning Knitting with Geanie
You’ll make a relaxing neck cuddle while you learn to cast on, knit, purl, cast off, and sew up your
project.
Starts: Tuesday, Feb 10 and Mar 3
Times: 1:15pm –2:15pm
Duration: 1 hr per week for 3 weeks

Intermediate Knitting: Fingerless Mitts
You’ll make a simple pair of mitts with a subtle lace pattern while you learn increases, decreases,
yarn-overs and work with double-pointed needles.
Prerequsite: knitting, purling, casting on
Starts: Saturday, Feb 14
Time: 1:00pm – 2:00pm
Duration: 1 hr per week for 4 weeks

Materials: Yarn, pattern, double pointed needles, stitch markers, tapestry needle
Intermediate Knitting: Two Color Colorwork Headband or Hat with Geanie
You’ll make a headband or hat with a Nordic-style colorwork pattern while you learn picot edging,
stranded colorwork, and a process for making a double thickness headband.
Prerequsite: knitting, purling, casting on
Homework Note from Geanie: Prior to the class, there will be some homework.It will be either the first
facing (size 3 16" circ) which is only abt 14 rounds stockinette, OR the roll brim and inch of ribbing
and a few rounds of main color. Hat people will need size 4 dpns. Headband people will need a size 3
16" circ and a size 4 16" circ. HB people won't need any dpns. You’ll have the pattern for more
complete instructions.

Intermediate Knitting: Fair Isle Tam with Sophia
You’ll make a beautiful tam using five colors of Manos del Uruguay Silk Blend yarn. Before you panic,
you only use the colors two at a time to make this adorable hat. You’ll learn Fair Isle style colorwork
and techniques for dealing with multiple yarns in a single project.
Prerequsite: knitting, purling, casting on
Starts: Thursday, February 12
Time: 6:00pm – 7:00pm

Linen Stitch Infinity Scarf Workshop with Kristen
You’ll make an infinity scarf (double loop around your neck) in the yarn of your choice. You’ll learn
foundation single crochet, working in the round, and the linen stitch itself.
Prerequisite: chain, single crochet
Starts: Saturday Feb 21
Times: 11:00am – noon
Duration: 1 hr per week for two weeks
Class price: $20.00. Materials purchased separately prior to first class
Materials: Yarn, two crochet hooks, pattern, tapestry needle for weaving in ends
Class Policies
Classes are limited to 5 students (except Beginning Crochet which is limited to 3).
Full payment of the class fee secures your spot in the class.
Your fee will be refunded as store credit if you cancel at least a week before the class begins.
Materials must be purchased at Strings Attached before the first day of class.
