2014 Multiple Spread O

MULTIPLE SPREAD OFFENSE
By Paul D Hefty - 2014
MULTIPLE SPREAD SYSTEM
DEFINITION: use of various formation alignments (backfield sets / balanced / unbalanced)
to use one offensive system throughout – making best use of your personnel with the same
core system, but providing different looks to the defense – creating matchup and number
problems by using the various alignments with the same offensive system.
DESIGN STEPS
#1 KEY:
use same spread system-terminology-teaching for all
#2 KEY:
determine which core offensive alignment to start the system from
#3 KEY:
determine the teaching progression for installing each offensive set
*use any order you determine best for your people (players 1st – coaches 2nd)
TYPES OF MULTIPE SPREAD SETS-OFFENSES
1 BACK – SPREAD OFFENSE
O BACK – EMPTY OFFENSE
1.5 BACK – HBACK OFFENSE
2 BACK – REGULAR OFFENSE
SPREAD OFFENSE – TRIANGLE DESIGN
DEFINITION: 1 back sets and read plays using various combinations
(3 in 1 = Triangle / 2 in 1 = Double / Drop back-Sprint-Screen Pass)
#1 KEY:
#2 KEY:
#3 KEY:
Triple and Double Reads
Use Golden PAP as Hot-Crossers
Can be run from 1 back (either way) – strong (Yrec) or open (Xrec)
