HANGMAN REVIEW GAME
PRE-GAME HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENT:
*1. Choose any 20 terms that we’ve covered in the current unit of study:
2. On the front side of your paper, create a numbered list of the 20 words.
3. On the back side of your paper, write one hint for each of the 20 words (see example below).
GAME RULES
1. To start the game, each player takes out a piece of paper. Use a new piece of paper for each game
2. Each player draw a gallows, then below it write a blank for each letter of the word to be guessed (see diag. below)
3. Write the hint for the word to be guessed below the letter blanks.
4. The person who WON the previous game to move to the table guesses a letter first*. If correct, the letter is filled in. If
wrong, ONE body part is drawn. (See diagram below for parts/order to draw)
5. Whether the guess is right or wrong, the second player will now guess a letter (take turns guessing after EACH letter
guessed)
6. At any time, a player may guess the complete word. If the guess is correct, the game is over and we have a winner –
the loser DOES NOT GET A CHANCE TO MATCH! If the guess is wrong, the penalty is TWO BODY PARTS!
7. The first player to complete the body of the person is the loser. The “non-loser” is the winner!
8. The goal is to win as many games as you can at table #1. If you win a game, you move “up” towards table #1 to THE
NEXT LOWER # TABLE than the table you just played at. If you lose, you move “down” away from table #1 to THE
NEXT HIGHER # TABLE than the table you just played at.
