FAMILIES PLAY FREE WEEK CLASS DESCRIPTIONS:
**= Pre – Registration required by December 22ND
AQUATICS – Safety around Water-**:Designed for non- swimmers or beginner swimmers, this 4-session course teaches kids water safety and basic swimming skills that help reduce the risk of
drowning and builds confidence in and around water.
Holiday Pool Games: Bring the family in for some fun in the pool! Aquatics staff will be running some fun holiday themed games in the pool such as Reindeer races, Santa hat relay races, and
Reindeer ring toss games!
Family Kickboxing (ages 5 – 10 with parent or guardian): Learn the core movements of Kickboxing while working up a sweat.
New Year’s Dance Party (ages 5 – 10 with parent or guardian): Join us for a dance party and fun to bring in the New Year.
Family Dance (ages 5 – 10 with parent or guardian): Dress up with any kind of Disney theme or come as you are! Dance along to Disney themes.
Family Ninja Workout (ages 5 – 10 with parent or guardian): Workout combines fun Ninja Warrior activities, your kids will enjoy! Circuits with energetic moves the whole family will love.
Family Circuits (ages 5 – 10 with parent or guardian): Circuit workout for the entire family! Earn a token charm for Fitness for each round of circuits to make a key chain or for your school back
pack!
New Year’s Eve “Snow Flake Scamper” (ages 5 – 10 with parent or guardian): Mini competitions for families to earn a special “snowflake scamper” charm to start off the New Year! Finish off the
hour creating your own take away craft.
Kiddie Crafts (ages 12-24 months/ 2-5 years) ** : Parent/ adult participation required; explore painting, sewing, puppet making, print making, collage and sculpture while fostering your child’s early
development. Art can positively impact a child’s emotional and social life and can help him/her develop fine motor skills, improve language and build self-confidence.
Chess (all levels, ages 5-11) **: This instructional and social class is designed for participants to learn chess, make friends, and discover a higher level of analytic reasoning and problem solving skills
that will last a lifetime.
Soft Play (children 5 and under with parent or guardian) **: Supervised time for parents to spend time with their children using available soft play equipment.
Double Play (ages 3-4) **: This class will focus on two different sports. The focus will be on skills, drills and game play
Gym Tots (ages 3-5) **: Introduction to YMCA progressive gymnastics program. Classes include movement, exploration, balance and confidence. Children introduced to bars, beams, vault, and
tumbling.
Tennis / Volleyball (ages 5-7) **: Learn the fundamentals of both sports, with an emphasis on gross motor skills, coordination, judgment, basic stroke mechanics, and having fun! Racquets will be
provided but children are welcomed to bring their own from home.
Rollers (ages 5-7) **: Beginner gymnastics class-progressive gymnastics skills on each individual apparatus, including balance beam, uneven bars, floor exercise, and vault
You & Me 1,2,3 Grow (ages 1-3 with parent or guardian**: Parent/adult participation required. A free play experience using soft play equipment, circle time to music, puppets, bubbles and
parachutes.
