2019 Canada Winter Games – Head Coach Application General Program Information Canada Winter Games - February 13 – March 3, 2019 – Red Deer, Alberta Ringette Alberta’s Canada Winter Games program is designed to enhance the development of Athletes, Coaches, Officials and Administrators and provides them with equal opportunity to discover the great qualities of competitive Ringette in well-organized and fair Regional Camps, Provincial Cup Competitions, and team selection processes. Certification Requirements Competition Development Certified OR Level 3 Certified (Old NCCP) Documented Timeline & current/future registration plans must be shown for applicants working towards the Comp Dev Certification The above certification requirements must be completed no later than August 31, 2018 Qualifications Experience coaching high performance athletes in a competitive environment Proven ability to work in a Team Setting, providing leadership and guidance Ability to work cooperatively with assistant coaches to effectively maximize strengths. Author are asked to submit via email with applicant’s name in the subject line. Please provide answers to the following questions: 1. Please outline the selection process and tools you would use to evaluate athletes vying for a position on the 2019 Team Alberta. 2. What do you think are the essential components of a successful team within a shortterm competition such as the Canada Winter Games tournament? 3. What individual player skills and tactics do you think are required to achieve success at the Canada Winter Games? How will you develop/foster these skills? 4. What team skills and strategies do you think are required to achieve success at the Canada Winter Games? How will you implement these skills and strategies? 5. The athletes on Team Alberta will all most likely also compete with a club team within Alberta. The ability to liaise with these club programs is essential to the CWG experience. How will you manage the requirements of both programs for your athletes? 6.
