AIM
SECTION 1 FRENCH STUDIES
This course will provide students who have completed at
French 2B or equivalent with an in-country immersion
experience by studying at the Centre de Linguistique
Appliquée de Besançon- a French government-approved
tertiary institution specialised in the teaching of the
French

Dates:
Seven weeks in total, consisting of:
• In t e n s i v e a nd sem i intensive French language and
culture courses •
 Completion of research project required for assessment
at UniSA.
 Attendance at French language and culture courses is
mandatory.
 Assessments include written and oral evaluations. See
your course coordinator for further details.
• Cultural activities organized by the UniSA students.
 Access to UFC Restaurant Universitaire
 Access to the Mediathèque (Centre’s library ).
Courses begin Tuesday 3th January 2017 and ends on
Friday 17 February 2017.

SECTION 2 COSTS
•
The estimated amount is 2, 250€ (excluding airfare)
includes the following:
• Half board accommodation (in a French family) in
Besançon for a total of 48 days; from Tuesday 3
January 2017 to Friday 17 February 2017. (For
private accommodation, please contact the Course
coordinator).
Payment:
Deposit of $200 AUD to be paid
The fee of € 2 250 does not include:
•
Access to university restaurant meals (cost borne by
students);
•
Access to sport facilities of the university at extra
cost (e.g. gym membership for approx. €50 per
month);
•
Participate to cultural activities and excursions (extra
cost).
SECTION 3 TRAVEL
To ensure you that have the most competitive airfares
for your journey to France, you may book with the
airline of your choice as long as you meet the students.
Details about meeting point in Paris will be provided by
the course coordinator before the trip.

SECTION 5 UNISA TRAVEL GRANT
Students enrolled in a UniSA program (degree) may be
eligible for study grants of $1000 at any time prior or
after departure for France. Current criteria to receive
the grant are:
• Grade Point Average (GPA) of 4.0 or above
• Completion of at least a minimum of 36 units for
undergraduate students or 9 units for postgraduate
students in the UniSA program in which they are
currently enrolled (36 units can consist of maximum
18 units credit + 18 units in current program).
• Demonstrated interest in and understanding of
cultural differences.
• Good health or a manageable condition.
You do not need to apply for a travel grant.
On receipt of the list of participating students from the
School, The Student Mobility Team will assess students’
eligibility and advise the School and students of the
outcome. The Travel Grant will be deposited in the
student’s nominated bank account before the tour
departs.

SECTION 4 ENROLMENT PROCESS

Enrol in LANG 2034 French In-Country at UniSA.
As you are going on a Study Tour that is essential to your
course (and forms part of your assessment), this travel will
be covered under the university’s travel insurance policy.
Please proceed with your usual enrolment in the above
course, which is held over study period 7 for UniSA
students. If you have any problems with your
enrolment at UniSA, please contact the School of

Students who wish to add any personal travel to their
Study Tour or who have a pre-existing medical condition
that may require treatment or medication while
travelling, must contact the Insurance Office at

University’s policy, otherwise you will be required to
obtain your own personal travel insurance for the full
duration.

relation to study at Centre de linguistique appliquée, Université de Franche-Comté, France from 3 January 2017 to 17 February
2017. Should my application be approved, I acknowledge that:
(a) Whilst I may be covered by UniSA’s travel insurance arrangements, I must contact the Insurance Office
([email protected]) in the event that I add any personal travel to the study tour.
(b) Whilst UniSA has taken reasonable care in selecting the Host Institution in accordance with the University’s own
requirements, my decision to participate in the study tour is made, being at all times aware that such participation is at
my own risk.
As a student of UniSA, I understand:
(a) that class attendance is compulsory whilst on the study tour;
(b) the importance of my being a good representative of UniSA and agree to conduct myself overseas in a manner that
reflects credit to UniSA;
(c) the importance of observing the laws of my Host Country whilst on the study tour;
(d) the importance of observing the student conduct code, policies and disciplinary procedures of my Host Institution;
